I have 2 questions I'm a nyc green permit card holder premise license. My questions are what happens to our purchase order requests if city has no permit jurisdiction and will we still need rifle permit. The Sullivan law is struck down from my understanding, does that mean people can go in the store in NYC and buy a gun with just a driver license? 2008 heller case says you can keep gun in home for self defense, does that mean in nyc we will be able to legally keep gun in home with no permit at all?

Sullivan was NOT struck down. The “good cause” requirement was. You still have to have a permit.

Sullivan law wasn't struck down.

SCOTUS vacated the 2nd Circuit ruling upholding it, and ordered them to reconsider their verdict considering carry by the public in public is as constitutionally protected right as the rest of the bill of rights.

Following this, California appealed once again.. in doing so the case was put on hold awaiting NYSRPA v Bruen ruling.. well this case has now been remanded back down to the lower courts.. This means the only thing keeping California's ban on magazines in place is Judge Benitez's stay on his own ruling..


TL;DR the only thing banning magazines in California is Judge Benitez's stay on his own ruling. He can at any point (and probably will) remove his stay.

And before anyone asks. No. This does not mean NY will automatically be able to get standard cap mags. This is the 9th circuit and who would be affected.

Correct... and the same(ish) will be said about NJ magazine ban case (3rd Circuit)

But both can and will be used to make a case against NY magazine ban in the very very very near future

watched a video earlier .. Cali is now banning CNC machines that make guns .. unless you have a FFL manufacturing license ..

OKAY .. bruen again .. is my thinking correct ..

history / text / tradition .. thats all they got now ...


wonder if the gun makers in the 1700's , 1800's had FFL manufacturing licensed .. i dont think they had them back then ,,

I always thought it was BS that you'd need to be a FFL to make your OWN guns.

That's just like the government telling you that you can't build your own widget for your own personal use.

I know of a few talented machinists that have made their own gun parts to entire guns from solid chunks of metal.

While still bullshit, they are not going after all CNC, just ones used exclusively for lower manufacture, e.g. Ghostgunner. If I lived in Cali, My 4 axis mill would be fine (I paid less, for 100X more machine), but then again I cant set it on my desk.
There is a very simple solution; The ghost gunner can accept gcode and technically can make anything that fits in its envelope. Cody Wilson could set up a sister website with no reference to DD, selling just his CNC machine calling it "Desktop CNC" with a bunch of pictures of it making chess pieces, knickknacks, etc.
That particular product would then be Cali legal as its not used exclusively or marketed for gun manufacture. I am sure Wilson would spend the very small setup costs just to mess with Cali.
