There is potential misinformation in there based on the shitshow of this poorly written law. While the law says state parks, the governors office has stated that that it does not include the Adirondack park and other forest preserves.

Just saw this vid. So it seems it was a big mistake for the SC to punt down (or whatever you want to call it) the decision to the lower courts. They are treating the 2A (which is a right) like they did recently with Roe v Wade (abortion is not a right). In this instance they should have done what they originally did with Roe v Wade and made it the law of the land. We are effectively right back where we were where states handle your 2A right differently throughout the country.

They shouldn't. The problem is that at this point in time there is too much to lose with risk of going to jail. After all is said and done that's really what it all boils down to. Enforcement. If there was no risk of going to jail for exercising your second amendment right they could write laws and regs (all unconstitutional based on 2A) all day long and people wouldn't care. Unfortunately, there are far too many that will enforce laws that go against the very thing they swore to uphold and protect.

This is fucking confusing to me. The last thread about this, there were contradictions that stated, Monroe county was NOT going to require the training, but then went on to say, but don't sweat it, you'll have 3 years to complete the required training?
So in other words, you don't have to get the training done, but make sure you get that training done because you are required to do it, even though you're not required to get the training in Monroe county, it is required. I think I get it now.
