No, no, no. Not that kind of business you pervs.

I went to the doctor today and I was asked the depressed, self worth, anxiety, desire to harm myself or others questions. I've NEVER been asked those questions before. Oddly enough, this is the first time I've been to the doctor since getting my pistol permit. Coincidence? Something tells me no.

I know they check your records for these things to see if you're a mental "defective", but I wasn't aware they added this info to your file. Interesting

Who knows. Maybe it is just the last three doctors I’ve had. They all ask. Actually the nurse does.

Because people who have these thoughts willingly share them with strangers! Yep...

I just had my physical as well and the questions were asked, simple answer, NO. Also talked with Doc about hobbies such as engines, shooting, and more. So yeah, even though once I expressed my hobbies for fast cars, I wasn't asked if I regularly exceed the speed limit or travel in a manner unsafe to myself or others... I was asked those questions regarding my mental health.

Is it weird? Yes... But only somebody seriously in distress with no way out or seeing a path to Help would answer yes. That's OK too!

The difference would be the health care professionals sharing that information with the government! The Govt having access to those records. That is not ok... But allowable NY law, ie, Safe Act.

I was asked the same questions a month ago during my 3 month checkup. I said WHOA!!! Is this stuff from obamacare? Nurse said it's from NY State and is required of all patients. Total BS.

Guys gotta beware. Show too much resistance and you'll never know what they enter onto your digital chart. Answer the question and be done with it. It is now a part of their screening and complaining about it to them will not benefit you. If you want to resist then do it to your assemblyman and state senators. The health care professional can only cause problems for you.

How come everyone has a hot nurse but me. At my doc office, the nurses are, well, let's just say Plump. or maybe thick. Not fat or obese. But they are very nice and they ARE competent. And none of them have ever asked me any questions other than whats wrong is physically with me ~~~

True fact. Last time I went to the doctor, they asked me certain questions becuase they received government funding. Questions like what gender do I identify with, am I straight or gay. And so on.

This is how and why DHS trained NYSP Gun Squad how to data mine. Obama and Clinton along with the hysteria of the Patriot Act have destroyed the rule of law.

I don't know if it is standard or not to get these questions. I decided long ago that I do not go to the Dr. unless I have something serious. I do not go for the Check up thing, physicals or minor aches and pains.

I research online what ails me and I go from there. I do not do blood work either. I do not take meds so I don't need to see the Dr.
