They use Stirling engines. They work ok for what they are. They do create an air current, and don't use power.

Huh? Any one of these I have seen use a TEG and a electric motor, not a stirling engine. Although a stirling would work they are much more expensive to make comparatively.

Regarding the fans, they work, but its nothing in comparison to the blower on your stove. They are not really efficient or powerhouses by any means. They move air but not really that much, maybe as much as a computer fan, maybe.

I did some experimentation with TEG modules scrubbing waste heat from my boiler to illuminate a string of LED's in my basement. It was pretty much a waste of time and money.

Different dialects of Italian , depending on where your from , Some say if your sauce has meat in it, its gravy, without meat, its sauce, sort of like we say Pop, and the rest of the country says soda. No biggie so long as it tastes good.

I had a friend of mine who is Italian , spoke the language , spent a year in Italy, He told me every city or province speaks thier own dialect, that he had a hard time understanding people in various citys

Probably not much you can do furnace wise but sealing up the home a bit more or adding some sort of secondary heater. I’m sure there are conditions that can go wrong and the furnace might be able to be tuned a bit better. Good luck and stay warm.

I'm not sure how much different it would be to be honest. If your power goes out your furnace doesn't run. Let's be honest here, most people don't have a generator, and of those that do I bet like less than 10% have panel transfer switches. Maybe a handful will use suicide cords. The thing is furnaces take electric to run too. About the same number of people would lose heat, etc. either way - doesn't matter if it was heat pumps or gas fired heat because they both require electric.

Ultimately heat generated needs to keep up with heat loss to stay the same temperature, and needs a surplus to raise the temperature.

Increasing heat gain can be accomplished in a number of ways but the big ones are:

• Improved Insulation - less heat lost lowers the heating output requirement.
• Improved Infiltration Management - Related to but separate from above. Infiltration is when you feel a cold air draft. It's cold air getting in through a crack basically.
• More heating output - IE. install a bigger furnace.
• Furnace Filter - when was the last time it was changed? This could be reducing airflow and heating efficiency if it's clogged up. Don't just remove your filter without replacing it by the way if this is the case.

I'd generally recommend fixing any issues with the first two before replacing the furnace with a bigger one. It's typically cheaper to do and also doesn't have ongoing running costs (ie. paying for gas to burn) so it ends up being way cheaper in the long run.

If everything and all appliances are electric it will be worse. The portable generators won’t be enough anymore for those that do have them. Plenty of people have wood burning stoves in their homes and those will seemingly be not be sold anymore either. I’m sure it will be illegal to sell split wood anymore. Stoves won’t be able to be used anymore. Right now my power goes out I flick a lighter to cook or get a hot drink, that will be gone. Hot water heaters still work as well. All these things matter to people and do save lives.
