If the deep cleaning did not clear mine up the next move was to remove the dot. But I dont feel the dot weight should make a difference since steel is milled out of the slide and the dot is made of aluminium so there should not be too much weight difference. Yes, worth considering but should not be the issue. That said the mounting screws may be causing an interference issue.

My best guess is that something is keeping the slide from making it all the way to the rear.

Part of me was starting to worry may I was limpwristing the gun, but seeing them shoot one handed while filming like this reassures me that no I didnt somehow all of the sudden begin limp wrist a gun

I would be willing to bet you were not limp wristing it , if it happened once maybe but you have enough experience to rule that out. If the screws are the problem it would have been a bad mill job and you likely would have noticed the screw interfering with something when installing the dot.

The screw might simply have to be shaved down a smidge.

They installed the dot at their shop and zeroed it (they do a "pro cut" so they messure measure each dot and adjust the CNC program to get a more secure tighter mill)

Granted I do actually enjoy this, helps get a better understanding of how things work and later fixes. Sad part is my time situation doesnt leave me much time to do the trouble shooting myself right now

interesting. I ported my g34 barrel (only 2 ports). I run a stock spring. Never had an issue with it.

K mod claims that their spring that they supply should remedy any issues.

This is correct, I talked to them on the phone when I was placing my order.

I asked the guy if their tuned spring was really needed, and he said no the OEM spring would work just fine reliably with most quality factory ammo, and that the tuned spring would make it reliable with all ammo including 147g subsonics.

I got the tuned spring cause fuck it why not. Still had issues so, this issue will be figured out and I'll keep everyone who may care in the loop and updated

Good thing you got the OEM ported. If anything you could snag another barrel and you walk away with a top window. Weapons armamanet research is also soon to release their afterburner for Glock.

Yeah I can get a new barrel even OEM for about $100.


And I know I just saw that from WAR hell maybe one day I'll be baller enough and get that as well to compare

I just ordered an unbranded Glock 17 barrel from Bear Creek Arsenal for $41. Came out to $51.29 shipped. I'm going to continue to work on making the ported one function, probably play with some different loads, but I hope this will let me use the gun in the mean time.

Ok yeah I forgot you built a P80 (and barrels are nice cause they are interchangeable)

The good thing about Gen3 guns (glock and glock clones) is the recoil spring lends it self for changing out to different weights to better tune the gun

Ok the Blaster is back home. And looks to be back running just fine (I still need to hopefully shoot it myself this weekend)

First want to shout out to DSM Customs here in Elmira. That's the shop I took it to. They seem to mainly do laser etching/engraving while also being gunsmiths and glock certified and what not.

So took it to them and they did a full Glock inspection (and they gave me the inspection form they used when I left) they also did a complete cleaning of all parts inside the slide.

Their prognosis, turns out the cerakote was applied slightly to thick on some parts of the slide rails, the took the slide put it on their laser and cleaned it up.

They took it out to the range and say it's running how it should with the OEM spring.

Other things they did find was the firing pin channel liner needed to be replaced so they did tha, and that the tuned recoil spring was to light and was still causing some issues and I should stick with the OEM spring, and they bore sighted my RMR for me, they said it was slightly off.

Grand total $97 I'm not mad at all

I will note, they did say they were a little concerned about the triggers safety shoot looking a little worn or something, so I think I'm going to use this as an excuse to change out to an Overwatch Precision

Glad you got it back and running!!! After running some rounds through it I bet the tuned spring will be fine, even tho I dont understand why a tuned spring is needed anyway.

You might want contact the company who did the work to see if they will do anything for you since they screwed up.

Did the gunsmith tell you how many test fire rounds they put through it?
