Yes I’m aware of that, but many cartridges overlap bolt action or semi automatic so do you think stores will take your word that your .223 is a bolt action rifle and not semi auto? This is where it will be confusing and difficult to navigate.

So you're saying it probably won't take effect until that is established? As much as I hate to wait, I may wait to see what the actual effective date is. If the date of it being effective is in the future, then I'll recertify right away to avoid it. If it's from today, then I'd rather avoid the legal limbo and either transfer all my guns legally to a family member out of state via 4473, or just move to PA and GTFO.

I just did mine today to get it out of the way. Took 5 mins total. Good till 2027
Mine was within a year so perhaps that's how I was able to

Kind of my thinking too. I'm on the fence right now about recertifying now or waiting and seeing. I'm due at the end of the year. They can't reasonably expect people to fulfill training requirements that don't even exist yet.
My feeling is that they'll probably make you recertify when your date is up (using me as an example I'm due to recertify December 28 this year) and then within a certain timeframe (either 3 or 5 years after they have training curriculum) you'll have to do it then before your next recertification.
Then again I'm thinking along the lines of "reasonableness" and nothing about this is reasonable.

I could see these assholes waiting 3 years to develop a training curriculum and revoking the permits of everyone who had to wait to recertify.

So does mean, now that they're banning hard plate armor, the effective date is in the past? Or does "in the same manner" mean, similar to the passage of chapter 210, that there is a thirteen day window from passing (or amending, in this case)?
I'm not sure how they're going to retroactively make people felons here.
