Being a neutral content provider doesn't mean you can't have content rules.

Also, the exemption isn't for "content providers". It is for "platforms".

Their customers would be the content providers.

If you are a content provider, then you are absolutely subject to civil liability for that content.

The exemption is based on the notion that the content provider is the appropriate party to sue and not the platform that they provided it on.

It's based on the "common carrier" exemption that makes UPS not guilty of drug trafficking just because someone shipped a kilo of cocaine using them.

But if UPS started inspecting the contents of every package to see if it met their standards, then they would lose that immunity.

SCOTUS does not care of "public opinion" and once seated on the Bench is there for as long as they choose (which should be evident from the Justices that have died there) and their Job is to interpret and apply the Law in accordance with the Constitution, not someone's feelings. New York's Law(s) covering Handguns is not the same or close to those in the other States cited. Of course the Author had to drag in gossip worthy details in an effort to besmirch Justice Thomas, along with the Roe v. Wade fiasco, oh and it's so important that Polls are listed showing their popularity. (when was the last time you were Polled concerning Government and its Offices?) Typical American Communist bullshit to sow discontent with those whom they disagree.

We will have a decision before the 4th of July weekend either way.

The contents of that decision are all that matter, not the delivery date.

I'm not convinced most judges in NY will care.

They will rule the way they want to rule despite anything SCOTUS says.

Thanks. References were contacted April 7th, so I assume it's on a judge's desk now, but have been concerned about the whole self defense reason since about 10 minutes from the time I left the clerks office. Good to know Monroe is ok with a self defense reasoning.
