Opinions on racking a shotgun to scare off a home intruder.

If I rack.my shotgun in a home defense situation it will be to remove a fired #00 buckshot hull. And again, and again, and again until it is empty. Then I will reload my 12 gauge pump and then check to see if there is any chance of a threat left.

my HD shotgun has a neat feature where it will rack itself to warn intruders, there is a small lever on protruding from under the receiver that engages the feature that is easily operated with your index finger.
