Holy cow!! 2 weeks and 2 days since I dropped my last amendment in the mail, including the July 4th holiday.
But gun store is closed till Wednesday.![]()
Brown. What judge? Wednesday will be 6 weeks waiting on Freehill
For that small little handgun you showed me yesterday? And the clock starts again. Just dropped another off.

Annie likes me more!4 weeks, 1 day.

LOL that's fine by me, you can have her!Annie likes me more!![]()
I submitted mine exactly 2 weeks ago. My original judge and the one who signed my last ammendment was Derosa. Don't know who is covering his licenses since he retired however.
7 weeks and one day for mine so far. My local shop said 4 to 7 weeks when I purchased it.Coming up on a month for an additional caliber for a handgun already on my license
DittoI am really late to the game on this...
I don't know how it works in other counties in NY, perhaps someone could give me a quick lesson... Here in Tioga county, I go to the gun shop, pay for the pistol. take the receipt to the sheriffs dept where its added to my permit for i think $3 or $6 or something, take a paper back to the gun shop and walk out with my pistol. On a decent day, I can have the gun in hand and on my permit in an hour.. Forgive me please for being naive', but I had NO idea it wasn't that way in the entire state as long as you had a pistol permit. I feel ignorant for not knowing it was any other way in the state.
Shit and I thought I had it bad, having to drive down to the county sheriff, and paying a couple bucks and filling out forms.. I had NO idea, honestly what some of my fellow citizens have to go through to buy a damn pistol...
I would really appreciate a bit of clarification as to how this works in some other counties.. I guess I will never bitch again about being restricted and inconvenienced when purchasing a handgun. It seems I have it better than a lot of NY permit holders do.... I HATE NY for what they are putting honest, law abiding citizens through just to buy a gun !... bob
) -not really. The judge signs the green paper and sends it back to the pistol permit office. The pistol permit office then stuffs the green paper into the envelope you gave them and prints off a new copy of your permit and stuffs that in the envelope too. Then they wait 2 weeks and drop it in the mail.Fun story....Holy guacamole.
Obviously doesn't allow rubber stamping of his signature.
The judge's attitude here is- you bothered to apply, pay the fees, and deal with NYS law. Need another handgun? Here. Enjoy.
