The searching isn't the issue. The gun being a crime is my issue.Regardless, he gave permission, no right violated in searching the vehicle.

You know what it takes to be "allegedly armed?"
The same amount of evidence it takes to have allegedly raped a chick at a high school party 30 years ago.
If I pointed a gun at an allegedly armed person in an "oppsie", I wouldn't be here right now,I can tell you that much.
And we as non cops are actually MORE responsible for our own safari safety.
Scary stuff.
Well I agree , the training can use some improvement . but they drew weapons on suspect who was allegedly armed .
And how many years will the cops be facing for pointing a deadly weapon at an unarmed individual with no justification? And, an investigation was completed and showed there was no evidence to back up the claim. Same here.
Yep. That's the only crime that concerned them.Suspect of what? ... I'm serious ... what where they suspected of? Having a gun? Your talking to gun owners we aren't scarred of them.

We shouldn't kill them for being wrong, but a good stint in prison will keep them him haphazardly pointing guns at unarmed people.Do you understand the consequences if your wrong? death.
Once they were pulled out of the car and it was determined that they had no gun, that should have been it. The shoplifting investigation should have commenced. Instead they ask to search the car for a gun.Do you understand the consequences if your wrong? death.
I don't believe it.None. Believe it or not, they were doing their jobs.
Suspect of what? ... I'm serious ... what where they suspected of? Having a gun? Your talking to gun owners we aren't scarred of them.
A deadly threat.
Not a rumour.
A deadly threat.
Not a rumour.
Then they were grossly mistaken, and in violation of the same law we would be.As far as the Police were concerned, it was a deadly threat.
The same way you or I would. How should they ascertain a deadly threat when they approach the man?
The same way you or I would.
Do not assume a threat exists until it is presented.
Or get a different job. One you might be able to handle without putting innocent lives in danger.
What?
What Victim? the imaginary one along with the imaginary gun? Todays policing is a farce and i can only hope someday Terry vs Ohio gets kicked to the curb. Either a crime is happening or its not ... the suspension of rights because something may be happening is a dam joke.
Then they were grossly mistaken, and in violation of the same law we would be.
And they need to take even the most basic course on carrying such a deadly weapon.
Ok, now that we were on the same page as to what you are quoting...:HERE!
So you think the law shouldn't take into consideration that a false report was made?
Once they were pulled out of the car and it was determined that they had no gun, that should have been it. The shoplifting investigation should have commenced. Instead they ask to search the car for a gun.
Only fire, if fired upon that's your policy?
Regardless of whether you agree with the gun possession being a crime, do you realize how stupid this sounds? If someone enters a car possessing an item, yet no longer possesses it after exiting the car, take a wild guess where that item may be.
You do realize that numerous court cases have established precedent on these matters right?
