Having a gun is not what was told to the Police. The bystander, said the kid came out of the store, gun in hand waving it around and pointing it. Guess they should have waited for someone to get shot prior to the investigation.

Once they were pulled out of the car and it was determined that they had no gun, that should have been it. The shoplifting investigation should have commenced. Instead they ask to search the car for a gun.

He was suspected of shoplifting . a minor crime, But he was also suspected of being armed. which is not a crime. But it drastically changes the situation and approach. Because the police may have to apprehend an armed man suspected of a crime.

What Victim? the imaginary one along with the imaginary gun? Todays policing is a farce and i can only hope someday Terry vs Ohio gets kicked to the curb. Either a crime is happening or its not ... the suspension of rights because something may be happening is a dam joke.

I’d seriously love a conversation about this. IE, how to know there’s a crime occurring without an investigation, but I know from experience there’s zero chance of that happening here.
