when i got my pistol permit the officer who investigated/ background check wanted our social media accounts and we told him we werent on any and he didnt believe me and said to wife and i if he finds any he will deny us, well 8 years later still not on any except maybe this one lol

This is what I don't get. Why would they need passwords unless they wanted to look at your private correspondence? Everything they need to know about your FB profile should be in your posts which should be available for anyone to see. If you have your profile set to private then tough. I suppose they could ask that you accept them as a friend so they can look or set your profile to public temporarily but needing your password??? In any case the whole thing is wrong and a huge invasion of privacy.

If they have your password they can see information that you keep hidden. even from friends. Also, if they get your FB password, they are probably betting that you also use that password for other media sites.

I reckon most people on this forum have give or take at least three years to renew my their permits.

So with that said....
