To the OP: As a manager, could you insist that ALL politics be left at the doors? Or would you face repercussions for stifling speech or creating a hostile work environment? I suspect I know the answer and that it also provides the answer to your original question.
My Director is off today but I did contact him after the situation and explained that there must be a no politics policy put in place in my department as I am sick of the one-sidedness and being told I am not allowed to voice my opinions when my beliefs are under attack because I'm "management ". I told him a policy needs to be put into effect and enforced immediately otherwise I will be going to HR.
I hate to go this route but I'm going to be petty. If I can't be allowed to voice my opinions because its not of the liberal narrative then all the Karen's in my department can go fuck themselves and there will be no more of it. I'll muzzle everyone and write up/suspend anyone who violates policy; time to fight fire with fire.
