That's not bad at all for the price for an off the shelf carbine. The AR one I bought from Lone Wolf was about a 1000 bucks.

I’ve been telling Ruger to re-issue the PC carbine for a few years. Now they finally have and it’s a takedown model which is convenient. Another nice feature is that it accepts SR mags and has an adapter for Glock mags. Currently, it’s just in 9mm but I imagine .40 S&W will follow soon
Magpul needs to hurry along a take down stock like they offer for the 10/22.

If there isn't a non threaded version available now there surely will be. Plus a thread protector could be JB welded on anyway. @Bullet Guy would know how to make it work somehow.Threaded barrel

How repeatable is the return to zero with receiver mounted optics after the barrel has been removed? Does the 10/22 takedown hold zero after its been......... erm.... taken down?
From what I hear, just like QD mounts. I.e. pretty darn good.
Depending on who you talk to that is debatable. Last time I was at the range there were two giys that had em, both were having no end of trouble with them.
Yeah, but they remind me of the laptop gun from Prefect Dark.

Looks cool, I could use a PCC.. I wonder if some enterprising machinist will develop a magazine well for M&P magazines.. that would be nifty.
If it came with a 92F mag well it would be pretty nice.

With Glock magazines there is no company that I'm aware of that had been able to do it reliably in regards to the bolt locking back.
Good gun for the price point. I still would rather have a take-down AR, but I have expensive taste.
That's a shame if true. It cools me on the thing considerably.

A very viable role for this thing. Imagine if we could have an integrally suppressed version, the ultimate bump in the night tool!
A 10mm version would completely trump the .30 carbine ballistically too.

Why? It's real easy to get used to. No different than an AK.
Why should I put up with it when there are options that do have this very basic feature? No reason to omit a bolt lock back function in 2017 and beyond IMO.
I hate getting a click on an empty chamber, so much faster to know when you've fired the last round and not waste the trigger pull and having to open the action yet. Its unnecessarily inefficient.
