We're heading back to Florida! We both grew up here, but moved to Florida back in '96. Got back here about 10 years ago, then spent time in Tucson for 4 years. Looking at places back in Florida now. My gun store that I ran for 6-7 years retired and a new big indoor state of the art range and store got started 4 years ago. I walked in there last month and was offered a position within 10 minutes. Told him I had to find a house there and sell one in NY first. He told me my gun would be waiting for me . . .

Congrats. Glad you are escaping. There really is nothing left in NY unless you have family there.

Shot my PCC last night, got the scope sighted in decently. Having ejection issues. I have to take the gun apart and clean the whole thing and see if that helps. I’m having issues with 115 grain, but no issues with 147.

Sounds like there is simply not enough umph coming out of the 115 grainers.

That’s what I’m thinking. I have yet to try 124. I have to take it apart and clean it anyway. Idk if there any adjustment I can make on it to make it have less tension.

I had a few issues within the first 15/20 rds! I just think it needed a little braking-in! Been fine since.

If you are deadset on 115 grain and reload you could easily overcome short stroking issues with hot loads. If not try to stay with hotter ammo like zqi or sellier and bellot. Of course there is also +P but that would be more expensive. And then again it could just need to be broken in. Shoot a shitload of 124/147 through it and then try 115 again.

weird - all I shot the other day was factory 115gr. 0 problems. Next time I get it out I'll run some 124 reloads and 147 HST

I ordered a case of 124 to try it out. It’s basically the same price as 115.

I would start with a hotter or heavier load, to beat it up, if you will.

I am so disappointed in NY. I left so long ago, and everything has gone to crap. My extended family barely even keeps in touch any more. You guys are more of a family than they are.

If anyone is going to go glock mags and does not want the ruger mag that came with the gun, I would be interested in it FYI.

I do not own a glock or a ruger and will probably never have either. The ruger mag is very nice and staying with it just puts me ahead from the start.

If and when they come out with a mag-well for the M&P or I modify the mags I have, I will keep you in mind! Picked up 10 factory M&P 10rd mags for $13.00 ea a few weeks ago from 44mag.com!

I do not own a glock or a ruger and will probably never have either. The ruger mag is very nice and staying with it just puts me ahead from the start.

Not to be an ass but why on earth would someone ever part with an oem magazine? It's the one magazine that you know will always work regardless of mods/spacers/accessories etc. If all else fails you can always just revert back to using the original mag. They can also go up in collectors value. Think about all those guns that 50 years later is impossible to find parts/magazine for. Not trying to step on anyone's toes but just think about it.

I wanted to do the same thing. I have a friend of mine who is interested in getting one, and has a Glock. I said the same thing to him.

I have magazines from guns I sold/traded years ago. If nobody asked about/for them they went into a box.

If I had the Ruger PCC, I'd part with the Ruger magazine. Why?

1. I don't care about collectors pieces with original magazines. I wouldn't sell it 50 years from now. I'd be dead.

2. I would never use the Ruger magazine anyway. If I ran into a problem with it using Glock magazines, I'd make sure it would get fixed. My only reason for having this Ruger would be to work with the same Glock magazines that my pistol uses. If it couldn't, I'd get rid of it. That would probably be a longshot though since Ruger would fix it.

I guess it depends on how you plan on using this carbine. If it's a range toy to tinker with, you might want to keep the magazine. If it designated to serve a role as a home defense carbine or shtf bugout carbine, the Ruger magazine isn't needed.

Definitely worth keeping the original magazine for the $20 you might get if you sold it. I keep all the boxes, papers etc for my gun stuff. Adds value for someone, even if you're never selling it.

On Ebay, there is a Ruger magwell for sale ( the one that comes with the rifle) and the guy wants $45.

1-Everyone that has the rifle got that magwell so who really needs it?
2-They're $35 from Brownells-
3-again, why buy it? If yours breaks, get it replaced under warranty.


I'd give him $5 just to see if I can make XD9 mags work.( I have a bunch of 'em).
They will lock in place with a little file work, but don't feed. I think that the height may be wrong..

I was thinking of checking out the SR9 ( LGS has a used one) but they're closed this week so I am trading for a S&W MP9 .

If I had a Glock, I'd trade mags or take $20 and get a Magpul Glock mag.

Today, I handled a Ruger PC carbine in Collector’s on Rt 82 in Hopewell Junction NY, Dutchess County
Ticket price was $499.95 I’m waiting for this carbine to come out in .40 S&W (I’m sure it will eventually). I already have 5 SR mags for it. Felt nice and takedown was very easy and secure
