Sorry to hear about this brother. I heard about the problems with Ruger and the RPR but I didn't think it was this bad.
Don't give up int he 6mm creed of that is what you want. Also do not discard the 6x47 lapua.
If it was me I would get the money back and go with a R700 blueprint (Bergara best value) or and nice Savage LRP that you can rebarrel yourself if you want.

I'm going to throw one at you from left field and it's a long shot. Have you tried clambering any other ammo in it? From a different manufacturer or lot. In very off chance the ammo is what is actually out if spec?

Not likely, the marks are coming up around the base of the bullet close to the neck. You'd have to use a different cartridge to get an error like that that close to the neck of the case.
Agreed the box could have been mislabeled. Considering it's his first rifle in this caliber he might not be familiar with what a normal one looks like. Very unlikely still.

The tested round was leftover from a case of 200 I sent down the tube on the first one. I measured bullet, neck and overall case length. It's the right round. Even dropped it in the case gauge.

2.7905" factory Hornady 108ELD OAL
-2.6330" actual OAL to lands
.1575" difference
The last photo represents the actual distance I'd have to seat a bullet in a case to touch the lands with zero jump. Thats seating it right about where the tape begins. I'm guessing any bullet over 100g would have to be a hand load seated deep or a lighter bullet so as not to jam it deep in the case.
SAAMI specs list a 2.80" COAL max. The factory Hornady is just under that so it's not like its incredibly long.
1. If my sharpie test previously posted is correct, the lands begin almost at the end of the case neck with rhe bolt closed (which wasnt easy).
2. Its not like the Hornadys are unusually long seated. They're within SAAMI spec.
3. The last one I sent back was exactly the same and a 25 year Ruger veteran, and new head of their RPR division, told me my rifle had NO freebore in it.
4. If this is a non-custom rifle, reamed to SAAMI specs, I should be able to chamber just about any factory ammo, especially one that many have claimed to shoot incredibly well for a non hand loaded factory round.
5. I'm still waiting for those who keep chanting "Tubbs, Tubbs, Tubbs" to explain how a product designed to "clean up" a barrel is supposed to magically solve a chamber issue like short freebore?
Could I hand load for this issue, sure. How do I compensate for reduced case volume with a bullet jammed that deeply? Do I sell the rifle someday with the disclaimer that "buyer must have reloading ability. Gun cannot accept ammo off the shelf"?
I can't see this as anything I'm doing wrong and this has to be an issue that's out there among those in circulation.

I'm considering but on the fence. I chambered a hand loaded 115DTAC which was seated slightly deeper and no issues. I read more and in some instances people reported issues with shallow freebore and the Hornady 108's, but I dont know if mine is SAAMI spec at this point. Other posts claim 108's should be totally fine as SAAMI specs will take up to a 115g no problem. Just about all the 6mm Creedmoor specs I read say a 2.80" COAL is normal and some actually showing just a little longer or shorter. The 108 factory round I'm chambering is just under 2.80". At 2.69"-2.73" the bullet is contacting the lands, according to the modified case test.

The factory is going to give you at least 15 to 20 thousands jump tolerance off the freebore.
The DTAC is fine because it is a more aggressive hybrid ogive but it is also more jump sensitive so while it might be fine AS-IS
you might not be able to seating them at the ideal length to maximize on that type of bullet with the right chamber.
you can always run a throater to get the chamber to be perfect for factory and your loads that should be at .183 SAAMI
But if a manufacturer cannot get a chamber of a 'so called' precision rifle right, what else could be wrong down the road?
Up to you, but ...
I would look at a quality rifle and like they say, cray once.

I just feel like I'm doing something wrong but can't see how. I cant believe I'm onto a 3rd rifle and I can't chamber a factory round off the lands. If what I think is true, there should be some jump here and I'd have to seat them deeper just to still be touching anyway, which means this is a hand load ammo gun or someone would have to keep trying different factory ammo until one fits.

If I was going to have an off chamber to custom load it will be tad longer free bore not shorter.
Personally, a brand new rifle, I would get rid of it.

I dont see any other option. If I kept it I feel like I'd be limited and have to make concessions. I just cant believe I've gone through all this to end up only a few thousandths of an inch from where I started.

Well, here is today's results. Took to the range and did a basic break in. Ran factory 108's, hand loaded 95's and 115DTAC's. Prob 55 degrees with some pretty constant 10-20 winds.
Seemed to chamber fine. I attached my best groups at 100, 200, and 250. Sent just over 100 total down the pipe. All in all, I'm pleased. With winds and barrel break in I'm giving it some leeway. Conditions could've been better. All the photos beloe were with hand loaded 115's with H4350, which seemed to perform just as well or better then the 108's. Tried some 95's out of curiosity but I think winds got the best of them. I'm going to give it another run, monitor spreads, and rounds down the tube. I think it can only improve.
At this point I'm going to report my findings to Ruger and see how it continues. Will more than likely end up keeping it.

League starts in a couple weeks and working on load / seating development....hopefully this weekend. Stumbled on a "redneck" magazine override option for single loading without the mag. 15 minutes of my time, $.04 in materials and it works like a charm.

Testing seating depths today. Proving to be a challenge at 100yds. Out of over 100 total rounds, very few ended up outside the black diamond. Best groups of the day, all 5 shots....

Girl earned me 3rd place in my 250 league. I came in at 239 with 2nd shooting 241 and 1st in at 242. Will only be a matter of time. My muzzle brake is earning me friends quickly.
