Also if possible do it via actual paperwork and certified mail instead of online, don't do their job for them, burry them with paperwork

I don't know what the state is capable of. With mass noncompliance would cumo put every resource available to him in confiscating guns, including the National Guard? Yeah, I think he is that kind of tyrant. Don't forget, they already know who we are. You don't comply and they will not only take your handguns, but also evert other gun in or on the premises. So here, I can get hypothetical too... Word gets out and media joyfully reports on the NYSP performing raids and seizures... That's on Monday... By Wednesday, every single household that has forearms packs their trunks and heads to neighboring states where local profiteers set up Gun Banks, yep, that's right, FFL's storing your guns for a fee... You head back home and what? What's going to happen when there's nothing to take? Hahahaha and when they ask where they are, you keep your mouth shut! You think the State has a Right to seize your property? Think again... And if the firearms are not in the State, you don't owe them any knowledge of where they are. So what's the problem?
Anyways, back to our regular programming! And oh, by the way, the State couldn't afford the expense to mobilize the National Guard for such activity, nor could they pay to hold so many, process through the courts or hire enough Judges...

There are a lot of trash talkers in this forum. Mark my words. Everyone here will recertify one way or another. Whether it's on your own in the upcoming weeks, on the deadline, or after you get a notice telling you that you are in non-compliance. But you will comply just like you always do when you fill out an amendment to your license.

The state can't afford free tuition either, no giving PR ninety million but it is being done. And that's what they want... This whole exercise is so that the NYSP can get their database up to date / correct (which they should already have via FFL's submitting P-12 information). I submitted early and have suggested others to do the same. Therefore, any changes to your permit / pistols information etc. after your certification falls on them to keep their shit up to date. The longer you wait, the more correct information they'll have and that's what they want.

A local FFL who has to deal with NYSP pistol permits in Albany has found out they're almost 24 months behind in processing county reported data already. Several people I know plan on cross registration right after they file their paperwork next January. Andy reinvented the clusterfuck. NYSP bear the burden.

The issue with noncompliance is they know who you are and what you have. Also no pistol permit and you having pistols is a bad thing. They would revoke it no? So that means no long guns, felony, guns confiscated, and jail time. Not worth it. You have already played the game and obtained a permit so why mess with this.

They probably want to re-certify because unlike the shitty assault weapons registration, the state and county already know you and your address and what pistols you have. Not re-certifying is a felony IIRC.
