Ah, learn something new everyday! I think I'd rather have the Vepr for the heavier calibers though.

The PSL?

Sometimes the import 308 versions can be problematic requiring some gunsmith level tuning to get working well. In addition to the necessary FUAC modifications.
These are Serbian made by Zastava. The PSL is Romanian.Sporting model

I didn’t know if they were any good. I don’t have enough funds to just go buy whatever so I needed all your info to help. After all this info I’ve been given now I know I do want one
. . . And just think, you have your pick between a 39 and a 308 . . .
Would you be interested in one of mine?
@GTN, buy one of those.
You are selling both?Maybe @Bananabandit will swoop in and snatch it right outfrom under his nose . . .
Yeah, I guess so. I've been on the fence for a while. Even had the 308 up a while ago, but had an annoying "buyer" and withdrew. But heading back to FL and I already have more rifles than I can play with right now. Making the commitment to my AR's, Mini's and M1A. Hell I even have a Mossy MVP Predator that I have never shotYou are selling both?
Still a bargain priceCome to think of it I haven't shot several things, including a lever gun, 10/22, and a SxS, as well as either of these Saiga's. I bought both of them about 10 years ago IIRC just before I moved back here. Great plans, but life got in the way. Heading back to Fl and downsizing, a little more than I expected. Sooo . . . Here it goes - 7.62x39 comes with 3 mags and is $700 and the .308 (7.62x51) comes with 4 mags and a sling.
Because I have bought and sold here before here are the disclaimers:
I prefer USPS money order or cash (no paypal, personal check would have to clear when I get to a bank). FTF(face to face OK in extreme WNY, Buffalo ok) as long as you have called your FFL to verify that they ACTUALLY do FTF transfers. Otherwise I can have it shipped from my FFL to yours, after I have cashed your payment. Last time I checked( about a year ago) they wanted $50 (subject to change). These are used guns, so you may find imperfections, minor scratches, etc. I don't know if they will work with the ammo you have handloaded. I bought them used so there is no warranty, and No, I will not take them back if you don't like them. No, we can't take them out and test fire them.
Sorry I have to say all of the above, but these are some of the things some have "demanded" or said . . . Really, I am sorry! I can't believe that ALL of those things came up last year
Yes, thanks, it is. Tough to find auto loaders that function at that price and are "good to go" in this state. For '39 ammo there's the Mini 30, but surplus ammo is might not work well until you change out and fit the firing pin. Saiga's are great with their own mags (Buffalo Gun Center carries them) and standard capacity surplus mags will work (after you pin them down to 10 rounds and add a bullet guide).Still a bargain price
Czechpoint-usa.com sells a version of the VZ-58 in 7.62x39 called the Liberty edition, it is NY compliant. Loads with 10-round stripper clips like the good old SKS. It has a machined receiver yet is lighter than an AK. Really a well-made, reliable rifle. They are often out of stock, but if you're going to spend $1K, I'd give these a serious look. I know of at least one FFL holder in WNY who will transfer it to you. It’s not so much that I want a AK platform. I want a reliable semi-auto rifle larger than a 5.56 that I don’t have to mutate. So far that’s either a M1 Garand (don’t like how you load it), M1a(big $) or a Saiga. If you know of other options please let me know.
Thanks for all this help

Thanks to FLA45fan for delaying his departure to warmer weather a few days so I can buy his 7.62 Saiga
I don’t get it until Oct 11th when I’m out his way for workPics or it didn't happen
The SKS is another one. With the traditional wooden stock or a traditional synthetic stock, you can even legally convert it to accept regular Tapco SKS detachable magazines or even AK magazines with an adapter. It’s not so much that I want a AK platform.
