The assembly and the senate often have slightly different versions of their bills. They get together to revise the bills into one then both chambers vote again. There are differences in some of the bills from the law that actually past. For example , the original anti-body armor bill would have made a crime to simply possess it as opposed to what it is now— to sell or transfer ownership to someone else.Why wouldn't the new law have the same wording of the Bills that were submitted?
Changing the wording after they are voted on, and especially after they are signed, is fraud. It's effectively a bait-and-switch.
Any changes will require a whole new Bill, new votes, and new signature.
Otherwise, it's just yet one more reason to ignore it. It's not a real Law.
