I think that is perhaps a bit extreme. Problem is with the handguard, not the whole damn rifle.That rifle is beneath you. It must be destroyed!!!

I doubt it's the receiver. Far more likely it's a varience in the handguard.The catch is, what's out of spec? Is it the hand guard or the receiver? It's tough to say if one or the other would fix it.
Yes.I'd send the handguard back as defective.
