Silly question about initial permit application

The inspector at the interview said this may happen so I was sort of expecting it. Hopefully the judge is a reasonable Person and everything goes fine. I mean it happened over 35 years ago and I did try to get any information I could find but there was none.

I wouldn't take this approach with the judge.
The issue is that you signed off (swore) that no arrests occurred.
Don't go in there with "yeah I tried but there was no information on file". You know you were arrested. Own up to it. That's what he will want to hear. Not any excuses.

But the thing is I don't even remember if I was printed. I wasn't 100% sure if it was considered an arrest. Everything was just dropped. No charges were pressed. Besides that I don't plan on going in there with a chip on my shoulder. I will go in and answer whatever questions he has and see what happens.
You can be arrested on an appearance ticket. It is still an arrest.

This is the time to brag about your good citizenship, good morals, good virtues, training you may have taken, little league teams (or whatever teams) you've coached, community service, feeding the homeless at a soup kitchen on Christmas or Thanksgiving, etc.
Make believe this is a job interview where you are expected to tell all the good about yourself to convince the interviewer to hire you or in this case grant you a pistol permit.
You'll be fine.

As far as the the process it can vary a little or a lot from County to County.
That's the reason I am interested in how the process works in Putnam. I'm in monroe.

Well that was silly. I was in the courtroom for about five min. The district attorney asked me to tell him the story about what I told the investigator at the interview. I told him what I could remember from 35 years ago and the judge said okay and signed the permit. The best part was when I asked the da if they found any info and he said nope just what you told us. So if I never said anything I would have had the permit two months ago. Oh well live and learn but at least now I have my pistol permit.

First of all congrats! Who was the judge?
Tendy is a good dude if the DA himself made an appearance and not an assistant. Represented the sellers when I bought my house and ive met him several times afterwards (randomly, not professionally, lol).
