Well, Joe Biden DID just get done saying that good guys should be shooting at bad guys' legs and not their center of mass.....
Oh man, I don't want to say anything remotely close to what that nitwit has said......

Do some research or talk to your lawyer about NYS definition of domicile in regards to self defense, it is not what most lay persons assume and may include more than many think it does.Funny things that permeate people's consciousness... I hate hypothetical scenarios, but will chime in.
Agree on not standing outside, it's unnecessary, and puts you in an undefendable position should any focus be placed upon you.
Agree on preparedness, like having the car pointed facing away from your house, close to the door, ready to go!
Having all you magazines loaded, lol. And having your firearms on you and backups within reach. My house has compound lighting on all corners, and a flip of the switch gives me at least 15 yards of sight, all around... plenty good, but would stay off unless needed.
One handle pot of water boiling slowly is great stuff, just saying! Or hell, make it a few. Other than that, I would keep an eye out, but not do anything unless required to protect myself or my family. Property can be replaced, but that doesn't mean I'm abandoning it to the skells. And no, NY does not allow you to protect property, only lives!
Rioters walking in mass down my street is enough of a threat that if they enter my property, I consider that a direct and imminent threat to my family and my well being and lives. If they arrive at my door, they won't be happy, I can assure you. Come what may, but where I live, there wouldn't be a jury that would side with the rebel rousers over a homeowner!
As for community organizing, well the Hassidic Community recently showed us all that when SHTF, you do what you gotta do... Who's going to stop you? So a dozen home owners patrolling the neighborhood armed to the teeth isn't going to rattle any cages in my opinion. I'm just not sure if I'd join in... Lol
Lastly, the mob mentality is all good and stuff, until there's blood running. First smack in the face and a good 3/4 run for the hills... Let alone if a firearm was to go off. That said, when a body drops, you'll lose a good portion of the other 1/4, leaving maybe only a few hardened and purposeful miscreants that will deserve no quarter! No questions, no discussion, no worries, kick in my door, and it's lights out. Try and throw a Molotov, or do some other crazy shyt and yeah, I might go outside, but won't be hesitating for anything. I'd rather be picked up surrounded by brass than huddled in a corner of the crisp remnants of my home! Fuck them all!
Ok, now reset and forget the hypothetical... In all reality, the chance of this happening where I live is small. Extremely small, but not impossible. The importance is to be prepared for anything, but do not in any way, place expectations upon the event or outcome before, or if it ever happens.
Just be prepared, and aware, always! Don't get caught sleeping!
I have a fortnite onesie (I am not kidding). It's bright yellow and a force multiplier. Are there multiple people in your house that can field a firearm in a safe manner? Are there neighbors with skill, experience and proficiency with firearms?
Only if backed into a corner:
Can you create a psychological advantage that makes you seem like a bigger threat? (Crazy beats big theory.)
If they break windows you hit the gas. But only do it if you're sure you can break the line because if you don't then you will be removed and beaten to death.I'm worried about getting stuck in the middle of a "protest" while in my car.
We've seen those videos and they escalate so fast. I dont have a ccw permit, yet, and I often wonder what I would do if caught in the middle of an angry mob while stuck in my car, and they start breaking windows to get me out of the car. I've conisdered buying a dedicated 870 to keep in my vehicles. But I haven't found a good way to keep a shotgun secure AND easily accessible in a SHTF scenario.

I share this fear as well. Where I work I cannot bring a firearm with me.I'm worried about getting stuck in the middle of a "protest" while in my car.

Stay inside. Set up a position that creates a “fatal funnel”. Look it up if you don’t know what it is. You can’t use deadly force to stop damage outside of your house in NY anyway, unless it’s arson.

As previously posted ....I drive a turbo hatchback, she's not gonna make it through a wall of angry rioters.
OR just carry anyway since chances are it's only an appearance ticket now thanks to bail reform.Use this as motivation to start the pistol permit process

That’s attempted arson. I covered that. Legal shoot. If a dude is lighting a Molotov cocktail in my yard and my family is in the house , it's on.

Just a thought on that regard.I have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen in case of a Molotov cocktail getting in.
Great adviceJust a thought on that regard.
Check your extinguishers and make sure they're functional.
Make sure that they are rated for flammable liquids ( some are not; that whole ABC rating thing )
Buy a bigger extinguisher than you think you need.
Buy multiple extinguishers and place them around the house..
Aot of good stuff in here, i prefer not to openly state my plans for opsec, but if the opposing force is too large then its time to get out of dodge. If its smaller then gorilla tactics will be used.
Also if its been around awhile shake it up. The powder can settle at the bottom and not function properly.Just a thought on that regard.

MAN WTF??? You live in Rochester NY! The unfriendly gun capitol of western NY and your thinking of walking down the street OPEN carrying? Dude YOU would be the one that would get arrested or worse SHOT by the police! And that stupid move would be filmed and repurposed as 'local gun nut goes on rampage/stopped by local police, story @ 11:00' I live here too, and I live on a private street but ain't no way would I walk to the end to deter anyone from coming down the street!I was also thinking of arming a few neighbors and walking down to the end of the street to prevent anyone from even coming our way. Not sure that would work, as you would have to be determined that you might have to shoot someone. something I would be trying to avoid, but if push-came-to-shove....
