Decided to give a budget dot a try and picked up a Gideon omega (SRO we have at home) for my MK4 22/45. Have 500 thru it and it has performed quite. I went with the green single dot model (my eyes like green better than red) for a non defensive range use optic on a 22LR pistol it has done everything I have asked it to without a complaint. I like it so much I think I will get another one for my walther range gun and see it holds up on a 9mm reciprocating slide pistol. I would not feel confident in using it for a conceal carry or defensive use handgun, but for a range toy it is quite excellent.

So it was not exactly today, but my latest treasure is NOT a firearm, but a 1928 Franklin Aviator Standard Coupe, Model 12A. It was my Dad's first Franklin and I inherited it from his collection. Got a minor fuel issue I'm resolving right now, but hopefully in a day or two it will be up and running. Might try to get it down to the Mohican Model A Ford Club annual car show in Wampsville this weekend if successful. It's partially restored, fully road worthy, and a hoot to drive.

Upgraded my EDC VPSK optic from the Vortex. Holosun SCS VP9. Solar powered , 3 different reticles in green. Made specifically for the VP9 platform with the factory milled slide. Mounts directly with no adapter plate. Also,it lower 1/3 co-witnesses with my existing factory sites. Eventually, I will upgrade its full size big brother as well.

Got a Ruger ready dot for my P365 tac-ops. Seems like a very interesting concept, no batteries as it utilizes a fiber optic instead. Except in total darkness (where you would use night sights) it is as bright as any other read dot. Interesting concept that it is a non adjustable red dot meant for 7-25 yard shooting on a man size target. Looking forward to trying it out once I get some free time. If I can make decent hits on target as Ruger says, then it will be worth the $78 price I paid on Amazon for it. Added plus that it cowitnesses with stock height sights.
