The Ranch model or just the American line in general? Ruger has come out with some home runs recently. I've wanted one of these since they came out. I like the idea of having a bolt gun that takes 223/5.56 and comes in a 16" bbl. I held off because of Ruger's proprietary mag hoping that they'd wise up and offer a model that accepts AR mags. The Mossberg MVP never really did it for me with the exception that they offer the Patrol model with iron sights (something Ruger still lacks). I'm going to have to figure out a way to add a front sight post myself. I'll hold out a while for something before going to a Smith to have one installed. Now I have to figure out how to sneak this guy into the safe and into circulation without upsetting the GF. I'm probably going to sell my coach gun to ease the blow ( I hardly use it anyway).

Finally ordered my upper! I don’t have it in hand yet so I figured a screenshot would suffice for now.
Aero Precision M4E1 upper with 15” Atlas S one M Lok handguard. 16” barrel, 223 Wylde, mid length gas system, 1/8 twist. In FDE to match my lower.
Obviously you know this already , but man those Howard Leight Impact Sport models are such a good product for the relatively cheap price. I sound like I'm advertising here, but really these days how often do you feel like anything you buy seems like it maybe should/could have easily been more expensive for the quality you get ? I have 2 pair of them myself, but I just noticed on Amazon if you're willing to go with "traditionally women's colors" (the pink or purple) you can get them for a complete steal. The purple ones were something like $30 right now
Yes you are so right! The old pair are still usable but the electronics stopped working, guess they rolled off the front seat one too many times.
Has not arrived yet but I am Waiting on a reamer, go gauge and a Krieger barrel for my Remington 700 224 Valkyrie build.

I ordered a set of Ahrends tactical grips made of Myan bloodwood for my S&W .45 Colt They should arrive on Wednesday.
Well this being the last Gun Show at the Saratoga City Center (F'en liberals) I did pick up a few things a pair of pop-up scope covers for the Nikon Prostaff I mounted on my Ares SCR, A GI-Sling that I was going to use on the Ruger PC9, Then I found a black sling at DD Ranch's table that I think will work better!

They work ok if they fit your ears, otherwise it can be painful. Mine start working after 30-60 seconds delay when I turn them on. I almost threw them out thinking they stopped working. I bought mine in 2008, they may have improved this.

Received from Amazon today, I'll use it when I shoot on state land. My LGS had a few but none that would take 2x4's which I have an ample amount of to use.
Just ordered all the remaining parts required to put two .224 Valkyrie uppers together. My Remington should be done Monday.
I can't wait to see your write up between that and your 6.5 caliber guns. I'm always leery on new caliber trends but I have a feeling I will be making a hunting caliber AR in the near future.
The .224 uppers are for a friend. He had been reading about the cartridge, asked me about the Valkyrie I built and asked me to build him a couple of uppers. He intends to shoot coyotes with the Valkyrie.
I really cannot wait to see how the bolt action version of the Valkyrie performs. I ordered some 95 Grain Sierra Match Kings to try out of her. I am having her name engraved on the receiver, "Lagertha."
A writeup on the 6.5 Creedmoor vs the 224 Valkyrie in both bolt and gas guns would certainly be doable. I just have to do a little load development for the 700 first. The AR likes the 80 grain Nosler Custom Competition bullets exiting the barrel at 2818 FPS the best so far.
