I finished my first knife. The blade is from a rusty old leaf spring, the handle is from a lump of wood from the firewood pile, the sheath is made from some scraps I had, and the pins in the handle are roofing nails.

Picked this up on Monday at the satellite location in Cheektowaga. Paid for the addition to the permit with a Star Wars check. Found out Alan is a HUGE Star Wars fan. What a great guy. We talked for about 15 minutes about the latest iterations and how they went off track compared to the originals.
In any case, it's a P30. Love my VP9, so i knew this would fit like a glove. Wanted something more concealable and the LEM trigger. Glad i got it. The trigger is perfect for a defense gun. Can't wait to shoot it.

I love the knife on the left. Beautiful handle. One finds this type of grain mostly in burls from tree trunks.Still waiting on the Marlin to arrive, so got these in the meantime.....

I am not going to install that trigger just yet actually. It seems I have to remove the saftey selector to get it in. The DD safety selectors are now ambi and plastic. I don't particularly like either of those features and I have been on the fence about replacing it. Having to remove it for the trigger install has pushed me over the edge.

The wood on that looks beautiful. I think they took care of you for the mixup.

It's hard to tell in the pic but yeah the wood looks new. Is it a service grade or a special grade? Or did they just replace the stock?
In any case I'm sure you will enjoy it.
I think they did as well. +1 on the muzzle and +2 on the throat.
I agree I think the stock is new but that doesn't matter to me as I will use it to shoot and not hang on the wall to look at.
Went to the range and ran 56 rounds through it(I have a few hundred Korean era surplus 30.06 in enblocs left over from my youth) and the rifle didn't miss a beat.
Garands are among the most entertaining rifles to shoot.
Well I just placed the order so I wont have it for a few days... but..
I've been looking for a new EDC belt something simple, and recently I saw that Blue Alpha Gear (who I've only heard good things about) said they were disappointed in the NRA and how they canceled their booth at Shot Show, then took the money that it would have cost them and donated it to FPC lawsuit.
So I said hell yea, just ordered their low profile edc belt, figured $30 cant beat that. And looks like they have some sweet customer service. So hopefully it gets here soon (along with my slide and barrel)

Got a 24pk of 2oz bottles. Going to be using them to store some samples of good bourbons to try again at later dates.
