Legalization means regulation.
Regulation means:
1) licenses to practice
2) Condoms absolutely required
3) frequent medical checkups
4) taxes paid
5) records kept
6) women protected from slavery and abuse
7) age requirements strictly enforced
etc.
The problem will be with divorce law. If prostitution is legal, what happens when a married man frequents a brothel? Can his wife then sue for divorce on the grounds of infidelity?

My opinion on this is that making prostitution legal doesn't mean it's okay to cheat on your spouce. Unless ofcourse you have an understand with your spouce and it is agreed that frequenting a brothel is okay.
But the state legalizing prostitution isn't the same as legalizing adultry.

I was in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in the mid 70's. Prostitution was legal and well regulated. No street corner hookers anywhere. Regular medical check-ups required. Prostitutes were on display in store front windows. Could make for interesting window shopping fun...
