Probably not worth it. There are plenty of small mom and pop ffls in TX, AR, LA, MS, GA, AL that have an on-line presence and ship ammo to up-state NY. One downside is most don't collect out of state sales tax so one would have to bear the inconvenience of remembering to declare the purchase for sales tax at annual filing.
I just talked with my brother today and he’s a cop on the CCIA and he said the same. He also said there’s no ammo background check. They have been given zero guidance on any of it. Not a word.

She can't change Federal law and there are reasons why the state laws were crafted with this cut out. It was already considered and dismissed.
Not playing an "I'm smarter game." May be mildly taunting but I doubt they are aware or it even bothers the players involved (some 1st hand experience here).
In previous years I got a small box of .22 LR ammo, and a vacuum-sealed bag of 9mm JHPs. All in an ammo can. This year I got a Hoppes cleaning kit, and that's it.

Honestly have no idea but this forum also has a fair number of visitors who are not logged in members. I understand that some people have called a NYSP barracks over posts on this forum.
There are threads where a member needs to be logged in to view the posts. We members could always be a bit more disciplined about where and what post. I'm guilty and I do delete, move or edit posts for more than just typos. There have even been a couple times where moderators graciously helped when my toe crossed a line.
