We can only hope. All we would need is this to happen just once. See how fast they would stop the nonsense. That’s not necessarily true . Judges can fine individuals. But even so, a 10,000 fine for each violation, not including any lawsuit judgments tends to get departments to stop such activity.
I'm not sure how being appointed as armed security would work if you aren't licensed as armed security. Seems like a bad idea to me. Almost like they're setting a trap.I am confused we are making another class of people? So we have law enforcement and now we have appointed protectors?
Me either, I appoint myself as mine and my family protector. Am I good now?I'm not sure how being appointed as armed security would work if you aren't licensed as armed security. Seems like a bad idea to me. Almost like they're setting a trap.
I actually had a friend that was thinking about something like this. He said what if his wife hires him as full time security for her and the kids then would he be able to carry in all of the sensitive locations if he's with them? I say it's a trap because I can see the state agents going into a church and asking about the armed guards. Then asking to see their licenses and arresting them on the spot if they don't have one. It would be pretty simple and effective, and of course it would enable them to take more guns away from more people. Sick huh? I wouldn't put that past the fat ass AG for one second.Me either, I appoint myself as mine and my family protector. Am I good now?

This is a stay in Antonyuk V Hochul....im assuming Christian V Nigrelli still stands as of right now. Christian lawsuit addresses the private property stuff...January 9
Am I correct that the Christian V Nigrelli ruling allowing us to carry on private property still stands as of right now? It’s just a permanent stay for the temporary stay that was issued already. The only thing I am not clear on is what is meant by “motion to expedite resolution granted”
I am going to print out the above quote and use it as reasonable doubt at my trial. No one knows what is going on at any time, literally minute by minute as the hours and days roll on.Am I correct that the Christian V Nigrelli ruling allowing us to carry on private property still stands as of right now?
Excellent! Thanks brother. Yes...im fully aware that could change before I leave the house in 20 minutes.....I am going to print out the above quote and use it as reasonable doubt at my trial. No one knows what is going on at any time, literally minute by minute as the hours and days roll on.
Yes, I believe we can still carry on private property.
Why does that remind me of the chalkboards during Weimar Germany (1930s) on which the proprietor of a shop would scrawl the current value of the Deutchmark (German money).....What we need is a running scoreboard that shows which parts of the CCIA is now suspended and which may be enforced. There is so much going on that nobody can keep track of it all.
Yeah I identify as a police officer, but I’m not impersonating one because that would be illegal.Me either, I appoint myself as mine and my family protector. Am I good now?
Yeah I identify as a police officer.
I'll remind everyone that 2 of the 3 judges on that 2nd Circuit panel were appointed by Republicans (G.W. Bush and Trump). When I first found that out I really thought that would play in our favor. Im starting to think I was sadly mistaken....Yeah I identify as a police officer.
I have a document outlining everything. I'll post it once I can verify that there isn't info that could dox me in the pdf metadata. What we need is a running scoreboard that shows which parts of the CCIA is now suspended and which may be enforced. There is so much going on that nobody can keep track of it all.
I do believe you have it backwards. In order to be hired as armed security, you need an armed security license, which you obtain on your own by taking the required training and then submitting the training and fingerprints to the state. The license is a credential that is not tied in with any specific employer, it is yours and yours alone. Like a drivers license and a job driving a vehicle for a living.I looked into getting an armed security guard license and it doesn’t seem like us normal guys can and you have to be working in that field to get the specific armed guard license. You can get a security guard license easily, but to get the armed guard it’s not. I was willing to go this far for my church and they were willing to pay for it.
If you work security according to the NY Security Guard Act of 1994, you must work for an employer, whether or not you are paid.Wouldn't you or your employer also have to be bonded and insured? It would at least be smart if not required. My line of thinking was more of ok something happens where you've been asked to be security for the church or whatever. In court when they put you on the stand and want to know what security training you've taken and you tell them none because the church just said "tag you're it" and "appointed" you as security, I think that will make for a bit of a problem. Especially if you used force on someone and especially if you caused an injury. So now you did something that you weren't ever licensed to do and received no training to do. This is not even taking into account that it's a crime to work security wether armed or not without the license for it. Correct me if I'm wrong on anything here. Either way, seems like a mess to me.
Thank you.If you work security according to the NY Security Guard Act of 1994,, you work for an employer, whether or not you are paid.
You cannot be legally recognized as being employed as licensed armed security unless you have an employer. There is no such thing as freelance - just showing up and someone says 'yeah, you guys are security today.'
That employer, to play if safe, registers with the state as an employer of security. Two page form, plus proof of insurance.
How this fits in with the court decisions 'someone appointed to keep the peace at places of worship' etc... I have no idea.
Within a year or two, we will go to a mandatory yearly security refresher and the instructor will mention that back in 2022 the cases before Judges Suddaby and Sinatra created a quasi-official designation within a church of an armed person keeping the peace.Thank you.
Not to sound paranoid but to me it kind of seems like a trap. Open the door for lots of gun owners to work as a security team, without the license. Then show up and arrest them for doing so. Now they can't carry at all. Anywhere. In fact after your arrest you'll get one of those notices to surrender all guns. Problem solved. Nothing would make them happier.
