In other words, he’s exactly the kind of man you want around with a firearm. But we know nothing about the at least six other parishioners who also appeared to draw their handguns at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas.

I watch that ASP guy from time to time, and while his analysis has some merit, at the end of the day, church security or not, people can’t be on 100% of the time, so discussing draw to fire time seems more theoretical than applicable. No one is going to be at high alert ready to draw all the time and if someone tries to get the jump on you, they probably will. I mean look at police stop videos gone wrong. They’re trained to be alert when pulling people over, approach and use the car and position to a huge advantage, and still sometimes get ambushed and killed.
Maybe he could have got a shot off but I don’t think he would have avoided getting hit and killed. IMO he’s a hero, he tried his best and ultimately served as a distraction that allowed others to take down the shooter. Condolences to his family.
This guy is the man and should be recognized as such. He literally stopped a "mass shooting" from getting worse, with one of the nicest shots imaginable. He saved lives, he's a hero. Thank you to this guy for saving lives.

I haven't replied to this before now, because watching the video just makes me so angry. First off, I am not a religious, but to attack these people where they want to feel the safest (except for maybe their home).. and to hear people screaming in terror....
I feel such sorrow for the families of Anton Wallace and Richard White, especially since so many people have seen their deaths in such detail. Hopefully we can learn from this, and we can prevent future tragedies.
Jack Wilson is a hero of the highest order. I don't drink but I'd buy him whatever drink he wanted.
