They dont follow "due process" coming in, they shouldnt get it going out.
This is correct. A place I know of used to grow hemp and switch over to weed when legalized and they use green card holders. They did the right thing and told them hey look weed is still illegal federally so working here and handling this stuff puts your green card at risk and they lost most of their workforce. I’m not sure it wasn’t by design but certainly it’s not a done deal. Hell we arrest and jail American citizens for committing crimes so I’m not sure why people think they should be able to do as they please.Even someone with a green card (lawful permanent residence) can, upon committing certain acts or crimes, become deportable from the United States and removed.
U.S. law contains a long list of grounds upon which non-citizens or immigrants may be deported (removed) back to their country of origin. (See Immigration and Nationality Act at I.N.A. Section 237.) It goes far beyond simply deporting people who are in the U.S. illegally. People who carry nonimmigrant visas or green cards, though they have certain rights to live and work in the United States long-term, can be deported if they don't follow certain rules and avoid certain types of legal violations. This article discusses the bases upon which a permanent resident can be deported.

Grounds of Deportability: When Legal U.S. Residents Can Be Removed
Whether on a nonimmigrant visa or green card, committing certain acts or crimes can make a person deportable from the U.S.www.nolo.com
From the article I posted. Were those kids *actually* deported, or were their illegal parents deported and the kids just followed along ?
If you deport a parent with minor children, you either need to keep the kids with the parents or take them away, whether the kid is a citizen or not.
This is beyond ridiculous. Exactly what is a 4 year old going to discuss with a lawyer? From the article I posted.
Two U.S. citizen children were sent on their mother’s deportation flight to Honduras without the opportunity to speak with attorneys, leaving a 4-year-old boy with Stage 4 cancer without access to his medication, according to the National Immigration Project. Gracie Willis, an attorney with the organization.
U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty has ordered a May 16 hearing on the case, writing that he has a “strong suspicion that the government just deported a U.S. citizen with no meaningful process.”
They deported them without due process. These are us citizens, not illegals. Very different things.
Doesn't matter. American citizens are legally entitled to representation. He's a US citizen so he gets representation. Full stop. This is beyond ridiculous. Exactly what is a 4 year old going to discuss with a lawyer?

I'm 100% on board with deporting every single illegal. I'm not on board at all with denying citizens their rights, whether you think they need them or not. It's up to them to decide to waive their rights, not you or I. If he chooses to go on his own, that's fine. If not then deport the parent(s) and he becomes a ward of the state.

The kids werent deported, the mother was. The kids went with her, as it should be. They are not adults, they have to be in the mothers care til they are of age, then they can come back. If the mother is capable of caring for the kids, no way they should be fostered or become wards of the state. Being a minor, doesn't the parent have to be there for the discussion also? This is beyond ridiculous. Exactly what is a 4 year old going to discuss with a lawyer?
Did the kid *ask* for a lawyer ?This is beyond ridiculous. Exactly what is a 4 year old going to discuss with a lawyer?
Agreed 100%. The "due process" needs to be nothing more than positive identification of the individual, and that they are here illegally. Done and gone. Definitely cant have every case winding through the courts for years.Due process, certainly.
But the process that is due for a illegal to be deported is drastically different than the process to imprison a criminal citizen.
You don't get a trial before deportation. Never have.
Kid wasn't charged with a crime, so no lawyer necessary.Did the kid *ask* for a lawyer ?
Even in a criminal case it's not automatic, you do need to ask.
I find it implausible that a 4 year old asked for a lawyer and was denied anyway.
Think of it this way.Agreed 100%. The "due process" needs to be nothing more than positive identification of the individual, and that they are here illegally. Done and gone. Definitely cant have every case winding through the courts for years.
Exactly. And these kids weren't here illegally because they are US citizens....Agreed 100%. Perhaps I'm wrong (it was a long time ago in a High School classroom where I was more interested in the girl beside me than the subject) but we were told as Minors, that we really did not have "Rights" and when you look in the proper context, the Teacher was correct, and why your Parents/Guardians were responsible for your actions.Did the kid *ask* for a lawyer ?

But their mother, or legal guardian was here illegally. As minors we have no authority to take them from the mother to keep them here as citizens, they cannot make any decision about staying or going until they are of age. So they stay with the mother. What dont you understand about that? What legal authority gives us the right to keep them here? Better you should lay off the libtard kool aid.Exactly. And these kids weren't here illegally because they are US citizens....
This ^^^because w couldn’t like it twice. The kid wasn't deported. His mother was deported and the kid stayed with her.
And if they'd made the kid a ward of the state so that he could stay, then people would be up in arms about them being separated.
Presumably the kid *could* have stayed, if that's what the family wanted. But the mom was going with or without him.
All of this bullshit is just "orange man bad" TDS.
The process that they are due hasnt changed. Biden didn't want to deport many, but the ones he did got the same process Trump is using.
The same process Obama used before him, and Bush and Clinton before that.
