Also the .223 Gold Dots are not hollow points but are soft points. Small detail but I thought I'd clarify it for the sake of providing accurate information. They feed in my AR very well btw, I've cycled a few hundred through.
Come on Meke. You can't discount all of it. The Gold Dot still went through a windshield no matter what the angle. It still penetrated the gel consistent with the expansion based on velocity. From the 20 inch barrel it had more velocity, expanded more, and penetrated less than from the 11.5 inch barrel that had less velocity, less expansion, and more penetration due to the smaller expansion. This channel is known to show conflicting and incomplete info.
one needs to follow a method.
What windshield, what car and year.
Does it match the angle as installed in the vehicle?
what is the temperature? Is the gel really calibrated?
We have clothes and bones, where are they?
What about shooting from 50 and 100 yards?
Nobody shoots a car from 8ft away.
So many things missing...
I think it might give an initial idea but not answers
Parameter inches?...parameter inches.
Lol. Within a parameter of a few inches give or take. I will edit it for those who may not understand.Parameter inches?

Bow bow bow DUM da da da da da da DUM da da DUM DUM DUM!
I'm in a silly mood![]()
The video would be 3 days long if you test for every different angle and at different ranges. Besides, you aren't going to have a shootout with a vehicle at 100 yards but that isn't the point. It's supposed to be a general idea. Will,
Those are decent rounds we already know that.
But come on man, my point is that the glass makes a HUGE difference more than other parameters.
The glass from a 70's car vs the 90s vs. a current car not just sports with large thick glass is not the same.
I think knowing the speed from a SBR is cool but what about shooting this with the tipical 16" AR from 50
and 100 yards. Give details of everything that is at play.
Put different angles and not a bare Gel but add some clothing, etc...
I mean this is better than nothing and given to the community but if one wants to really understand how
a round really behaves one needs to be more methodical and follow a process.
I know these experiments cost time and money and they offered to the community so we cannot really complain
but also keep in mind that if you really like a round do your own testing too.
For example the M855 is a great all around but you change angles and type of glass and the whole thing changes
just with the very small gap of air between the jacket and the penetrator that induces deflection in many instances.
This is someting that it was consdired a benefit when moving to the arrowhead design from Liberty amunitions.
Like I said many times auto glass is a bitch and working with different types and angles will show how a round
really behaves.
Those rounds are good rounds ... I am just saying....
In my opinion, popular ammo would be the first to go if shtf, and maybe the unpopular calibers would be left behind. Just my thoughtI would carry one too if the caliber was more popular and readily available. I have since settled on 9mm going in at about 175 fps less.
I can stock up on popular ammo cheaply now though. In my opinion, popular ammo would be the first to go if shtf, and maybe the unpopular calibers would be left behind. Just my thought
Give and take there. As Will said he is able to get it cheap now so he stocks up. Unprepared people are the only ones who suffer during a crisis, be it an ammo drought or a tornado. In my opinion, popular ammo would be the first to go if shtf, and maybe the unpopular calibers would be left behind. Just my thought
