I think with the introduction of new tactics and optics there is an intro to ballistics even in the basic training.

I did boot at the beginning of '05. Qual'd with M16A2 and they taught just enough to get you through. Dial the distance on the wheel and make a wind call. Fire and adjust as needed if it was slow fire. My fleet quals were pretty similar but I got waived the last three years cause the Navy didn't want to pay to send us to a range on Pendleton. Maybe it's changed since then?

We need a better name than 6mm SPC though. Something less derivative but still descriptive and with a bit of marketing zazz. Something along the lines of the 6mm Universal, given its intended role of replacing the light/heavy scheme of 5.56/7.62. But we need a more exciting and technical sounding metric to stick in front of the Universal part. 6mm is too plain.

I found a perfect lead free bullet for it both for tactical and hunting.
This bullet should leave the barrel at around 3000fps that should make it very effective against armor and hard barriers.

Not that one. I have been asked to write articles in some other specialized websites. The problem is time.
Even as professional writer they do not pay much. I guess that is also why one reads so much garbage even in expensive magazines. Magazines are a waste of money.

Those too. length is fine. These we could test them with the new round.
My calculations say that the 88gr will make 2800fps from a 14.5" barrel and 2650
from a 11" barrel.

So, do we make it?

I have been also thinking about doing something in 6mm with the carcano case.
That's more complicated for an upper project but it would be amazing.

I would imagine the 6.5G would have a longer barrel life just based on size and being slower.

Got a barrel on order from craddock precision. Nice thing about ordering from them is you get to choose the manufacturer of the blank, finished barrel length, twist rate, gas block size, length, gas system length, threaded barrel size (1/2 or 5/8) or just no threads. Look forward to getting it in about a month. Just in time for rifle league season.

In the video the guy shoots at 1027 yards and 1 mile. That is not too bad for an AR15 platform.

I'm gonna guess that beast is gonna be a bench only rifle? Just sold my 16" RRA Varmint upper (bull barrel) because I never used it because it was too damn heavy to carry around hunting.

Yeah most of my rifles are fixed place guns. I do have a few "touring" guns but, this one is designated for longer range than typically engaged with touring guns.
