Yes.IMHO, our times are indeed the crisis phase of a Fourth Turning, and history shows them to be far from pretty, and the actual spiritual humanity of everyone will be tested.

Truckers, for the most part, are an ultra conservative, live free or die group. There are truckers of every race and creed out here but every last one I have talked to about politics is a massive hardcore Trump supporter. In fact some of the most enthusiastic Trumpers I have met were Black. Met a Muslim driver originally from Tunisia who loves the guy.Great info.
The supply chain is always crucial. Logistics, boring but essential.
It was a major reason, in part, for the failure of the German forces in North Africa, the battle of them Bulge and Barbarossa.
@Podmonkey - as an aside, what is the prevailing attitude of your fellow OTR drivers on Trump, the leftist goons, and the present political climate in general?

I think you would be very hard pressed to find anyone in the industry that was left leaning.
Im not an OTR driver, but I think its safe to say that they feel much the same way we do about those things. After all, they work for a living. If you spend a significant amount of your time exchanging your labor for money, you develop certain values that people who have all their needs met without lifting a finger frequently do not.Great info.

And that is why I have a six month supply of food. I wonder how many people in the major cities can say the same? More problematic is prescription medicine.Incidentally the fastest and most dramatic way to shut down the country is to halt the trucking. None of the stores you go to stock more than 1 day of goods. Look up just in time inventory management. If all the trucks in the country stopped for just on day every shelf would be bare by the following morning and would stay that way for weeks. For example:
I will take a load of grain mix for cereal from one city to a plant in another hundreds of miles away where the cereal product is then taken in great big totes to a packaging facility hundreds of miles elsewhere. The boxes also come to the packaging plant from hundreds of miles away. From there the filled boxes go to a distribution center also likely hundreds of miles away and so on. This whole country is criss crossed by a tenuous web of extremely decentralized system of production and distribution. It is an incredibly fragile system. It makes economic sense because freight is so cheap, ever since the transportation industry was deregulated sparking a race to the bottom of freight pricing. Think about that the next time you are stuck behind a truck huh?
I drive for a large petroleum company, 8 guys in our terminal, 3 anti trumpers. Union yes boys, I can see the hate in there eyes when I walk in as I refuse to pay dues or tow the line, good times lately.Im not an OTR driver, but I think its safe to say that they feel much the same way we do about those things.
