What have we have gained from aligning with China?

The people gained nothing, but wall street and the politicians made beucoup bucks selling out American industry. The people got fucked.

Our country was sold out to the communists.

You know what happened, the governments spilt, but the country didn't, they both considered themselves China even though the governments were separate.

Its fucked up because Officially they are the same country , but unofficially they are separate. the UN does not recognize them as a seperate country . China and Taiwan dont recognize themselves as a separate country. but the governments are separate. Its weird.

There *is* only one country.

They're just in a really long cease fire in a civil war over who will control it.

Until they have an actual peace treaty that recognizes each other, then they are one country.

The only reason there are 2 Koreas is because they signed an actual cease fire, and that required them to recognize each other.

That never happened with China, and the only reason is because the existing government retreated across 100 miles of ocean to an island, and the rebels weren't able to attack for decades, so things cooled down in the mean time.

Imagine if North Korea denied the existence of South Korea, and claimed publicly that they were just criminals occupying Korean territory (because the South doesn't exist, there is only Korea, not North Korea, right ?)

Western media really screwed the pooch when they started calling the remains of the Chinese government "Taiwain" after the island they had retreated to.

They should have *always* just called them China, or at least "South China".

The minute they let the communists lay claim to the name China, they caused irreparable harm to the free world.

I had lunch with a group of ex-coworkers yesterday. One is from Taiwan and she just returned from spending 3 weeks there. She said there is no fear regarding an invasion anytime soon. She did say she has 3 friends that have lived in China for 20 years and all 3 want to leavedue to the economic and political conditions.
