Russia may indeed get their pyrrhic victory.
By the way, what were the results of those referendums? I'm guessing they had high approval rates like in the high 90's.Reunification vote passed the referendum in all of the four regions. Russia is expected to declare these regions as part of Russian Federation with all of the rights and protections.
Special Military Operation is expected to be renamed anti-terrorist operation.
If Russia is losing the war as we are told by retired generals in our media, why would Russia escalate the war it is losing?

Russia could have acknowledged that its time as a superpower was over and just accepted it's new role on the world like Britain did after WWII.Every time Russia yielded to the West it lost. Started in Germany with "take down that wall Mr. Gorbachev". Progressed to a war on his territory, ignited and fueled by the West. If Russia didn't make a stand, it would simply disappear in another few decades. Putin knows it.

They could have become a respected member of the international community. No longer a super power, but more a peer of Germany or England, etc...
But, no, they couldn't accept that, so now they are a pariah and are going to be a peer of Iran and Syria instead.
Too bad for them. This is not what the Russian people or their culture is about.
Too bad for them.
No, to survive they should. So, to apease the rest of the European weakness, they should give up who and what they are?
No, to survive they should.
Those ambitions are incompatible with the rest of the world. So it's either us or them.
Does that apply to the hood rats that think the world owes then whatever they want to take because they are "victims" ? They have a culture and are a people. But their culture is incompatible with our society, so they can't be tolerated.I disagree. No country, nation, people or individual should ever give up their identity for the sake of others.

As they told us as kids: You are judged by the company you keep as friends. But, no, they couldn't accept that, so now they are a pariah and are going to be a peer of Iran and Syria instead.
Even when their "identity" includes the deliberate ruling of other ethnicities in non-russian territories? The Russian empire consisted of all kinds of captured territories. The Soviet union maintained these territories (while decrying the "colonialism" of the west). When the USSR collapsed these separate and distinct nations and people demanded their freedom. Putin wants to re-constitute a nation that does not normally exist without force. Ethnic Russians are a minority in their own country. They have no legitimate claim to these other territories.I disagree. No country, nation, people or individual should ever give up their identity for the sake of others.
Russia is not a natural ally of the United States.Trump knew Russia was a natural ally of America.
He treated Putin firmly, but as an equal, and with respect.
What a grave we have dug for ourselves !!

All American citizens have been ordered to leave Russia. The embassy is closing, in the US has since empty planes to return American citizens.
Stealing every nuke secret they can! Or what ever dementia Joe gives them in return for giving Hunter a jobMy question is why are chi-na nuke scientists in The U.S.A. to begin with!?
And lose support of the war? Better to keep morons in the dark, where they belongNot exactly related but something that makes you go hmmm....
I am astonished at how chill the press and government seems to be regarding the risk of nukes being utilized.
