I don't know 2 random cops on the side of the road and I'm not taking chances that they can safely handle my firearm. I'm going home to my family at night.
There is NO duty to inform in PA, BTW
County policy in some counties.Same with new york

Not this one.

Doesn't an officer have to have an actual reason to disarm you though in NY? Namely, they have to cite a crime for which they want to be disarming you. It can't be just "oh, I want your firearm" if you haven't done anything. At least that's my understanding.
Never heard this
Well, without you being in commission of a crime, wouldn't disarming a citizen that has committed no crime be a violation of their constitutional
rights?
"Officer safety."Well, without you being in commission of a crime, wouldn't disarming a citizen that has committed no crime be a violation of their constitutional

Isn' forcing someone to have to pay for a license to exercise their constitutional right also a violation of their rights?
Well, it all is a violation. I'm just wondering if officers actually have the ability to demand it, beyond me complying because I don't want to have to go through a court case just to get my license back.

did i read that right .. the Troopers partner took the gun apart ... and couldn't get it back together .. full tear down or omg removed just the magazine LOL ..
if that is the case of full tear down i would have said no i just got it last week , I'll meet you at the LGS and they can put it together on your dime .. WTF ..
Well that's pretty damn stupid. I'm not going to test it, but I think it's wrong that someone who hasn't violated any laws, or is otherwise intimidating / has drawn a firearm, should be disarmed.
But it's NY, so I don't know what I should've really expected.
There is no reason to inform ever unless asked or ordered to step out of the vehicle.
Ask Tex Grebner.Hopefully they take it holster and all.
Removing the firearm is probably when the NDs occur.
Removed slide sprin upper and barrel ! If story is true what would have happened if he was carrying a revolver ?did i read that right .. the Troopers partner took the gun apart ... and couldn't get it back together .. full tear down or omg removed just the magazine LOL ..
