Trouble at new job for Magnus

So Magnus smoked the interview and now has to commute down to the city. Magnus comes out of Grand Central Terminal(GCT) on his first day of work and what does he hear? Explosions near by and he swears he hears something about a snack bar! There are a few hostiles visible to Magnus, other hostiles are carrying out more destruction. Parts of buildings have begun to collapse forcing people to evacuate. The attacks have not reached the office yet and are only concentrated around GCT. So the office is considered the safety zone for now.

How is Magnus going to combat the smoke from the rubble?
What visuals would indicate a safe route?
Where can Magnus hold up if making it to the office is not an option?

Hole up somewhere, but the chemicals and dust from collapsing buildings can give you terminal illnesses in very short order, so keep a mask handy (if possible one of the half face respirators as they seal up way better than any paper mask can).

Since it's visible that hostiles are between you and your goal, the only option is to retreat. I'm assuming your not sufficiently armed to engage since your not in the city. Park ave looks like the best route. Head that way, and hope for the best. After going a block or 2, determine if it's worth trying to flank the chaos and get to work, otherwise keep heading away until you can find some reasonable means of transportation out of the city.

P.S. Love your scenarios they are thought provoking and make me happy I work in my suburban upstate home with my safe 10 feet away.

If trains arn't running out of gct i'd walk the tracks out.
I'd go bact to the track i came in on, cross my fingers and start walking the opposite way that the train rolled in. This could be suicide but I would rather take my chances on a direct route.

Yep. I do. I'm going on 16 years now. The railroad tracks will never have traffic if you need to get out quickly. Roads, sidewalks, ect would actually be more hazardous.
