Other than the NRA and the Trump Administration (when established) who else should we write to or try to coordinate with? I'm hoping that Alan Gottlieb and the Second Amendment Foundation will take a leadership role in this fight as the only organization that has success beating anti-gun legislation. I'm going to write a message of support to him this weekend.

Definitely agree with what you've written and proposed - it took many decades to pass the labyrinthine firearms laws in this country. It will take many years to untangle and get rid of them.
Encroaching on state's rights in any other way will lead to more repressive centralized government, and I've had enough of that shit, thank you very much.
But Celt's point is spot on. The Fed.Gov can't interfere in unenumerated rights which are reserved to the states by the 1oth Amendment - the BOR enumerates what government can't do, and IMHO, that applies to ALL government levels. No government is allowed, in theory and for example, to violate the 1st Amendment. The 2nd Amendment is no less clear in it's meaning, regardless of the mindless parsing done by the gun control lunatics.
Also IMHO, a hard core SCROTUM ruling, citing and strengthening Heller and MacDonald, against a major law like UnSAFE, would be not only a good start, but allow the quickest resolution.
Regardless, it won't happen in my lifetime.
I agree with @prambo. The Federal government needs to stay out of states business. The only way to get rid of these laws are to challenge them in the supreme Court. It will take time but it can be accomplished it Trump has the opportunity to nominate at least 2 Justices. I hope to be around for the challenge to UNSAFE and ultimately its defeat.
Can we pass legislation that requires large Urban centres to be enclosed by giant plexiglass domes? And then can we forget to put breathing holes in said domes?

Stop allowing the states to control the permit process. Take it away from them, it is not a State Right. Issue a federal type permit. The process could be as simple as voter registration. Simple form with very basic information. All states would be required to regconize this "permit". All State permits would be null and void. The states by constitution do not have a right to do what they do.

That is logical, second ammendment=federal territory. It's a double-edged sword though if an anti sits in the white house.

Why not add it to drivers license like is done for Motorcycle? Only need one item instead of 2 to carry.
Because one is a right the other is not. Drivers license is a bought and paid for privilege. Keep the two separate.

The feds need to enforce constitutional open carry. Once that is done the states will fall in line w/ may issue CCW, just so that their subjects don't get used to the idea of law abiding citizens w/ a gun.
If you can vote, you can open carry (and obviously purchase, etc...), and the only way to keep you from carrying somewhere is normal trespassing laws.

As others have said, Trump cannot do anything for gun rights other than sign a concealed carry reciprocity bill. The states issue the license and it's recognized everywhere.
The next thing that he can realistically do is repeal the importation bans of foreign rifles signed via Executive Order by Bush and Obama.
That is it.
As far as magazine capacities and features, the only thing he can do is appoint judge's and then it's up to the Fudd organizations like the NRA to bring it to the Court.
He cannot make law. He can only sign new ones and it's up to the Supreme Court to declare old laws unconstitutional.

That's why having control of all three branches of the federal government will be handy. My naive hope is the RINOs, having seen the political establishment (and Trump's firing of Christie will reinforce this) blown away that they will fall back in line. I am hopeful that this new government will be responsive to the demands of its people. We are going to have to do our part too, get ready to write letters and emails and make calls to indicate and support the legislation we want, and to discourage the legislation we don't want. Accept that comprises will be made and pick our battles accordingly, our political advocacy is going to take on a new dimension we will no longer be kicking and screaming just to keep the 2nd on life support. Lobbying will be crucial, like it or not the NRA and others like it will be the main medium we will be communicating our demands to congress. Basically I don't think our effort level will be able t o decrease, but we just might be getting a lot more of a return on it soon. Assume nothing watch Trump like a hawk, we must remind him who put him in power at every opportunity and the same goes for congress. I don't know what will happen but I honestly think we have a shot now. The shitty thing is states like CA and NY will be last in line to reap the rewards, but chin up, at least we see the path now.

The Bill of Rights provides for this. Again , I am no constitutional scholar, but the states are not allowed to violate constitutionally protected rights. But the federal government also can not do this, and in this case this it would be up to the states to defend the constitutionally protected rights.
In theory, the Second Amendment can be protected against the FED on the state level and can be protected against the state level by the Fed.

He can introduce a bill just like either house of congress, but it has to go through the whole process. It would be great to see him introduce a bill that fortifies the 2A and makes banning things, whether it be features or entire classes of firearms illegal. If he can somehow get a bill like that passed, which would supersede any state level ban, It would obviously take most if not all the safe act out. As I understand it, the Federal government sets the minimum level of adherence for states to follow, ei states can't have laws that are less restrictive than the Federal law, but they can make laws that are stricter assuming they aren't later proved unconstitutional.
Many people are so wrong on what can and cannot be be done. President Trump does not need to create a new set of laws to protect the 2A!
He already has EVERYTHING we need to get this going; he has the GD Constitution. I think too many in America have fallen to much of the Propaganda thrown at them in the past. Many believe what they hear on the news. The Constitution of the United States trumps all this bullshit put out by the State Governments.
If people really care about what is happening in our Country and they want it fixed, I would suggest picking up a good book that deals with the Founding Documents. Educate yourselves, there is a lot of incorrect information in many of these threads.

Yes, and hopefully this will be the practice going forward, though I will not hold my breath on NY or CA or any of the other usual suspects. A way must be found to cajole theses areas.

All he needs to do is order *his* justice department to bring suit against the states that are violating the civil rights of gun owners.
The laws about violating civil rights are already on the books. The ruling that keeping common arms has already been made. It just needs to be enforced, and enforcement is what the executive branch and DOJ does....
It happens with all sorts of other civil rights, he just needs to declare that the RKBA is no longer a second class right.
