The question then becomes, what is our North Star? How to rectify breaking of the contract? Both sides continually pervert the "spirit of the law" and look for extralegal ways to advance their agendas. Trump, however, is essentially calling for anarchy, in service of his presidential ambitions.

He isn't calling for it. He's declaring that we already have it.

The recent Twitter revelations that highlight the fact that the unelected bureaucracy essentially chose the president and not the people should make that quite clear.

Once you realize that the shenanigans outlined there are only a tiny sliver of what was going on with all mass media you will see the scale of the problem.

The people can't make an informed decision when all sources of information are controlled by a group of bureaucrats inside the government
who are loyal only to their own interests.

If the people are no longer in charge, then neither is the constitution.

The feds have no business interfering at all.

The constitution's remedy for what has happened is to eliminate all the federal agencies that aren’t sanctioned by it, and to prosecute everyone involved.

Not only does the constitution prohibit the federal government from interfering in elections, it doesn't even allow them to have the capacity to do so.

If the federal government was limited to the scope the constitution intended, the it wouldn't matter how corrupt they were, they wouldn't have the power to cause problems.

You may be right. But the "States figuring it out" would likely be interpreted by some as referring it to Congress, and I'm sure that's not what you meant. Not sure how that would work. A convention of States?

I think the Constitution was written under the presumption that it would be followed and therefore did not provide itself with specific provisions if it were not. This seems to create a Catch 22. In a way the Constitution does little to defend itself....I suppose that's why we take an Oath...it may be up to us.

Ideally what would happen after all the investigations, hearings, etc. is to hold those responsible - trials, impeachments, sentencing. Re-establish with new leaders.

The problem is that we are so politically divided it will not work procedurally or legislatively as it should. If there is one area in which the Constitution fell short it is in limiting the power of political parties.

Well we certainly don't want to pull a Mexico and have a revolving door of shitbag dictators after a series of revolutions.
However find amusing (and bewildering) that Trump is accused of being a dictator. The man sat back and did nothing to stop his political opponents and was indeed defeated by them. Not something that dictators tend to nor are they big on brokering international peace talks nor roll back regulations. I'd say Trump is the polar opposite of a dictator.
All this being said I fail to see h9w any ordinary citizen would want to continue our current state of affairs in which a small, powerful elite are free to collude amongst one another to consolidate power and wealth at the great expense of the public they erroneously claim to serve.
It is time to withdraw our consent to be governed and stand up against the mindless, shrieking thrills of the the establishment.

Difficult to oppresss the citizenry when the neighborhood watch has an M1 Abrams and a Patriot missile system at their disposal. I am completely serious about that too. I believe in the formation of community militias to which the latest military weapons and tech are dispersed. Then we abolish the department of homeland defense. Such is the duty of every American citizen after all.

How do you explain our victory in the Revolutionary War to begin with then? The British Empire was the most powerful, best equipped, best trained and motivated political and military force the world had every known.
I think it would be successful if we had the balls to do it honestly. We had martial superiority in Veitnam, Iraq and Afghanistan yet look how much trouble we have had. Large , centralized organizations are at a disadvantage in asymmetric warfare.

I think the biggest thing anyone could blame Trump for is being insufficiently shrewd in the political arena. He certainly did allow himself to be outmaneuvered. However that is a claim I lay at the feet of the GOP as a whole. Or at least that segment of it that isn't part of the Uniparty, those we dub RINOs.
