Can we close the 2 or 3 newest threads and link to the oldest one? This is getting ridiculous reading all these threads for the same speculation.
How much of that is outright bribery? I'd like to see documentation of where all that cash is going!Fyi, Bloomberg is dumping 25 million dollars to oppose this in the senate. It's insane that someone can have that much disposable income to influence the will of the people, how the hell is that allowed?
Money .... That is nothing compared to thisHow much of that is outright bribery? I'd like to see documentation of where all that cash is going!
Have you read the text of the bill? Would it actually cover us in NYC, or does it just apply to non-residents?I dont travel much, but i really need to carry in nyc. Next contract is in a very, very bad neighborhood (and worse if you look like me).
I have read it, and I saw nothing that would preclude someone from carrying in New York City. Now that's not to say that new york state or New York City wont immediately look to get an injunction from the courts , while they sue the fed gov, but I don't think that would go anywhere.Have you read the text of the bill? If this bill actually became a law I think there would be plenty of New York State residents that would start carrying throughout the state regardless of any anything.
IF this were to pass in its’ current form, I will be printing up a “rub it in your face t shirt” for my upcoming National Reciprocity tour, and posing for pics in all of the places I can think of, and then posting them on social media.I have read it, and I saw nothing that would preclude someone from carrying in New York City. The front of the shirt will probably say something like:
OMFG! You’ve just been in the presence of a lawful gun owner carrying a concealed firearm under National Reciprocity,- and NO ONE was SHOT or DIED as a result!!! Wow!!! Who knew it could happen?
and the back side would list the states and cities on the tour with checked boxes.
I’m pretty sure HR 38 was modified to include lands managed by the National Park Service. I wonder,- is the Statue of Liberty part of that? Seems like a perfect place to start my tour, followed by the top of the Empire State Building; Freedom Tower, 1 Police Plaza, Time Square, Central Park, Wall Street, NYSE, outside a Big Bird news conference, a Subway car ride,... and many, many more!
“(d)(1) A person who is deprived of any right, privilege, or immunity secured by this section, under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage of any State or any political subdivision thereof, may bring an action in any appropriate court against any other person, including a State or political subdivision thereof, who causes the person to be subject to the deprivation, for damages or other appropriate relief.
Does this mean the arresting officers, and prosecutor no longer have qualified immunity if they attempt to prosecute someone for this ?
That would make a *huge* difference if you could sue them personally. How many NYPD officers and DAs want to risk losing their house and just to harass someone for exercising their rights ?
No. It's a concealed carry reciprocity bill.Does this now allow allow open carry in NY .. i have a 2A permit for that .. i really feel i'm from a free state ..
It will be be a bit still. First it has to go through committee in the senate, and IF it passes, to the floor for a vote.Still waiting for the full outcome on this bill.

I'm in beard season now brother, And I found my stash of FUAC stickers.Shave the beard and replace those hardhat stickers with some Obama bling. And bring grape soda.
Well...there are also concealed carrying criminals who don't give a damn. They'll continue to do what they do regardless of laws. After all...they're criminals. This whole thing is retarded, do they not realize that people from other states have Non-resident permits and are currently CCW in other states already? Dipshits! Just vote it in
.
perfectly said. That's the truth. If they pull the old'' well we tried'' and fail, it really makes you think if they are just going thru the motions or do they really care....Oh boy, all the speculation and hypothesizing... All the threads... Almost as bad as when Safe was enacted! Can't keep up, nor do I want to, lol.
Here's the deal! On its own merits the bill won't make it out of the Senate! And if the Republican Congress wants it to pass, they will attach it to strings that can't be ignored, like the budget or the debt ceiling, etc.! If they are just playing politics, ie, geeeee, we "TRIED", then they will allow it to float and flounder while taking pictures and saying how they support citizens Rights, blah, blah, blah...
It really is that simple. Just shove it down their throats! Attach it to something that can't be ignored and not passed and it's done! If Trump wants to stand on a single thing that will guarantee his re-election, this would be it, along with the Wall! Lol... Anything else is just gravy.
