Sorry that your stupid CAR method is just that stupid. The only reason it's a thing today is because Hollywood theatrics it looks fun and exciting on the screen which for someone like you I would have expected to have a bit more common sense and realize that's all it's good for.
But hey go back to hugging walls (wasnt a marine but weird I even know that's not a good thing, bullets do weird stuff when it comes to walls) or shooting sideways in a car because extending your body back slightly to get a proper shooting grip is so hard to do (and who would want to try and put follow up shots through the already made hole in the windshield if you have to shoot through that or side window cause those dont have crazy impact on how bullets react)

I trained with the Israeli army for nearly a week in 2005 as well. That kicked my ass! I thought I was good.... They showed me, easily, that I was more arrogant then good. I learned a lifetime from them.
The Jordan army, they are not good at all. No real form of training, and their lack of safety is a bit scary.
So what you are saying is that getting training in a new are under PROFESSIONAL and LEARNED instruction is a good thing

We trained with the Aussies twice. The Japanese once, the Norwegians once, and the Jordanians once. They all have different methods for various things. Neither was right or wrong. The Army and Marines teach entering a room in the high ready. The SWAT guys from my Guard unit taught entering in the low ready to prevent someone inside a room hugging the wall as you enter from grabbing your barrel. Which one is right? I don’t know. I see the utility in both methods.
I think training is great. I'm just not going to pay good money to someone that has a beard in 511 clothes.
But if you dont know something you wouldnt want someone who is a professional in that area to teach you?
Too difficult to know who is a professional and who just dresses up to make the mark.
I'm not willing to spend money to find out.
I personally know some very well trained people, and some amazing shooters; I will take lessons and pointers from them.
I am not doging anyone who gets training... I am doging those that advertise they are great professional trainers with little to know true experience. Being ex-military and a combat vet does not fill in that empty space all of the time.
I have more traing and real world experience than some of these professional instructors, and I would still find myself lacking in the ability to seriously train others. I will always to assist others, but never as an instructor.
I mean it's easy to vet out actual trainers vs someone who idk watched john wick and did a few years in the army or marines and now thinks they can self teach themselves nonsens

Your argument makes no sense. I guarantee that a large part of what you and I both learned is from YouTube rather than classroom instruction. I’m pretty sure that you didn’t attend a class to show you the benefits of using a red dot. You learned that from your own research based on what you already know, bought it, and applied it to what little foundation you already had with pistol shooting. You didn’t need an instructor to show you how to use a red dot because you already had a pistol shooting foundation and already had a red dot rifle shooting foundation. You put it on and practiced on your own. It worked for you. Someone else that did the same may have gotten a different result and went back to irons. That doesn’t mean that a red dot is better or irons are better.
Now a total newbie that never held a pistol before would have to go to an instructor for applying a red dot since he has no pistol shooting foundation. You and I do not have to.
The same applies to CQB and other tactics. Those that have a foundation can teach themselves via YouTube, articles, and talk from others to apply and try different things. You don’t need to attend a class to learn how to enter a room either at the high ready or low ready. You already know how to enter a room as a member of a stack because you did it hundreds of times. All you need to do is practice at home entering a high or low and figuring out what works better for you and what you are more comfortable with. But someone that has never had a CQB foundation would have to attend a full class to get the basics so that he can later apply little things like going in at a low or high.
The argument that you always need an official instruction at a class is false. You don’t need to always. I do not need to for certain things. but for other things I do. I know where I have to move based on where the guy in front of me moved when entering in a stack. But if I wanted to be a long range shooter to engage at 1000 yards, than I would have to take an official class since I do not know shit about mils, trajectories, how to use a long range scope, ect.
I think you know what I’m saying regarding training but would rather argue and say things like 9mm Major because it’s funny to you and you get something out of it for your own pleasure or maybe for your own inadequacies an insult thrown out of context will make you feel better. I don’t know but what I do know is that you are coming across as sounding ignorant. I know you aren’t so why act that way?

Bottom line, CAR is a specific technique for specific situations. Castle designed it for work in very tight spaces, like inside a car, or inside a tight hallway, or if holed up with your back against a wall behind a small barrier. It works alongside your existing shooting stance when the need arises. It isn’t a total replacement for shooting like one guy is alluding here. It is an additional tool to be used when the isosceles is not possible and a very good tool to be used for weapon retention in crowds.

Here is where it can come in handy when shooting from behind a barrier with minimal exposure where an extended arms stance isn’t ideal. Notice how he transitions to regular isosceles for longer range.
Here it is when sitting and you cannot lean back to extend your arms.

Not really, just another thread ruined. I'm glad I found this thread, I see it's usefulness in certain situations like in my car or home which happens to be two of the most likely places where I'd likely need alternative measures.

Perhaps I can start another one with all the videos in one place without that one person ruining it. I don’t know if it’s even worth it. He’ll just do what he does and bomb it. It would be nice though to have so that we can discuss our experiences with it talk about what works and doesn’t work.
For example. I cannot use my non dominant eye when I use it left handed. But using my dominant eye seems to work for me so I do it slightly differently depending on which hand I’m holding it in.

Perhaps nobody likes using their non dominant eye and has wrote this off, perhaps this works better than originally intended while using a red dot. There's no harm looking into it just because you say it's stupid.
And I had no idea about John Wick. I watched the movie after viewing this thread.
Of course no one likes using their NON dominant eye that's why we use our DOMINANT eye.. there is no need to switch eyes when switching hands. There is almost never a need to switch hands unless the dominant hand is injured
