The girl was privileged scum for parking in a handicapped spot, the guy was an idiot for pushing the older man down but it looked like the guy was backing away after he pushed him when he was shot. Thoughts?

3. I don't think there was enough to justify the response of the shooter, but again, there's so much that audio would provide for this.

Going to have to agree with what most people are saying here. Once he pointed the gun, and got the reaction of the man backing away, that should have been enough. If he was still concerned, he could have still held the pistol in his hands but towards the ground and at a safe position, so that he could raise it quickly if he thought they might come back.

That being said, he was also just knocked to the ground and nervous as fuck he was being attacked. It's just unfortunate his adrenaline took over his ability to see what we all see after the fact.

Heres the problem, what if the pusher wss backing away saying, "im gonna go get my shotgun right over here", or something a bit more realistic, but for arguments sake, ill go with this.

My point is, just because he is backing away doesnt mean he isnt still verbally threatening the shooter.
Stand your ground laws say the shooter doesnt have to give way to a verbally threatening, violent attacker.

My .02 cents....the shooter was justified, however, he should have left well enough alone and not gotten into a verbal altercation with a guy over a handicap parking space. If it upsets you that much tell the store management or call the cops. Don't escalate a situation over something like this.

His life is probably over know and will have to spend much dinero fending off wrongful death lawsuits over a relatively small thing.

From what I can gather, the Sheriff did not exonerate the shooter, but only referred the case to the State Attorney for potential charges and the Sheriff elected not to arrest the shooter at this time.

At first glance I see slants from the coverage on the media that was 1) covering a graphic event for sensational traffic and 2) not waste a tragedy to incite controversy and division with unnecessary editorial opinion, and 3) stir up a social justice keyboard warrior base with progressive bias to either enflame an already excited base or influence an upcoming decision by the State Attorney concerning criminal charges or even civil rights charges.

When I looked for some additional information, I found a significant number of both articles and opinions that framed this a white racist executing a young father who was buying candy for his five year old son and defending the child's mother, who was guarding two other infants in the car, from harm.

I also saw more than one local source reporting that the shooter was a frequent customer at this store and, during a couple other previous instances in the past, shamed others who illegally parked in handicapped spots.

Considering the exert of the law in the article and his situation I agree with the shooters actions. I don’t agree with his decision to confront the female driver about her choice in parking spots. This whole situation could’ve been completely avoided and a man would not be dead.

In fact, pulling a knife on me may not get you shot.
You might just get your neck broke.

However, we dont have all the facts of this particular case to say it was unquestionably a bad shoot.

Who knows what was said once the gun was pulled. The attacker could have said " you better shoot old man because as soon as you put that gun down imma kill you with it".

Without audio, its a sketchy shoot, and one I likely would have avoided.

So assuming "Stand Your Ground" was legal here, everytime someone in your life when you were young talked shit and said they were going to "Fuck you up!" or pushed you in the school yard or bus stop on your way to school you would have killed them? "Assuming it was legal for you to carry in this hypothetical.

I understand what the intent of "Stand your ground" is supposed to be and I agree with it (wish we had it here) but it's being warped and used to cover up murder.

If I had the ability to do what that guy did when I was a teen, I'd have at least 20 deaths under my belt. Hell, add probably 10 more in the barracks when I was active Marines and probably a few more in various bars oversees against other Marines and Sailors.

I agree, and it is sketchy, however; (and im making assumptions) perhaps the older guy had a disability and genuinely felt in fear for his life. Its far easier for us watching a video to see whats going on, its definitely tougher being the guy who just got assaulted and knocked to the ground.

He obviously was able to articulate why he still felt threatened in this case.

There is always more information and I have to believe, that information combined with the video warranted the prosecutor to call it a good shooting. I just remember back when I watched the NFL, a play would show one thing and ten videos from every angle possible would agree with the call, then one last video would clearly show the call was, wrong.

Not just words Will, I get threatened on a daily basis. Not a day goes by that some piece of shit tosses a threat towards me.

Man approaches me with a bat and says he is going to fuck me up, yeah, more than likely, he will meet his maker.

Some throws me to the ground like in this video, better believe, there will be hell to pay.
