Just a heads up on my Westchester co pistol permit sportsman to full carry amendment upgrade
I received my amended permit today to full carry so nearly 3 months of a wait ,check was cashed on July 5th received today the 26th
of September , no mention of the 16 hour safety class just a simple letter for the amendment to full carry so not sure if I have to do it before I
renew in 2024 .

Did they send you a copy of Penal Law 400.00 (18) for you to acknowledge, notarize and return ?

9/23/22 on the permit and negative on the penal law form just a brief few sentences that if you have any questions to call them

Anyone add a pistol in Westchester lately I’m still waiting on the check to be cashed for a new pistol for nearly two weeks now .

Question on the rifle endorsement, once recieved does that mean you need to get an amendment everytime you buy a rifle with serial number listed on permit? Or is it in itself a "permission slip" to buy a semi auto?
I just mailed mine in this week just to do it, but Im hoping its not the same as adding a pistol.

It's just an excuse, as usual. There is no interest in processing amendments since they are lilely 'overwhelmed' with a person waiting on their retirement actually processing the applications. Blame the 'system'.

just called now. its under review by "public safety" once its done there it will go back to clerks office where they will send it to a judge (to sit on their desk for who knows how long) before it can be sent to me. I submitted it back in July, clerks office sent it to public safety in late august.

Thats insane, and wtf is “public safety”?! i waited til my permit was set to recertify, thats when i added the semi rifle amendment, took about 2 months from mailing in my recertification to interview with the judge. Got my new permit a week after that.
i sent a amendment for a new pistol 2 weeks ago, check cashed exactly 1 week after that. So we’ll see how long this amendment will take.

I just handed in my paperwork for recertification this week. Let's see how long it takes to get back. They still wanted social media even after the second circuit decision. I gave it to them in the interest of not delaying the process. Ill keep you guys updated.

I just bought a S&W 351 PD to add to my SS P365 Micro on my license. Sending in paperwork on Monday, will keep all posted.
I'm leery though, because I just received my PL on 12/19, so judge might scoff at another one so soon. Rotten blue state...... SMH

Just got a release form in the mail yesterday similar to when I applied for my pistol permit , which gives them authorization to do a background check on me. I had to have it notarized and sent back in. I submitted the amendment back in Late July and here it is late January. I find it ridiculous to have to wait so long to exercise our rights but that's what we have to deal with living in New York unfortunately.

Only update I have, is that they cashed my $3 check. PL division didn't mention the background, when I asked the next step after check cashing. They said it goes before a judge for approval, to the tune of 300 a week!

Is your amendment also for the semi auto endorsement?
I mailed mine in 3rd week of july, they cashed my check in middle of August, i got this bs form in the mail a few days ago. Essentially, they had my AMENDMENT for 6 months, then mailed me a form to waive my right to privacy for them to check my background (while I already have an active pistol permit).
I would like to make a lawsuit out of it, but they would just issue the amendment, moot the suit and Id be out thousands to a lawyer. Although if it goes on too much longer I may just do it anyway.

They absolutely drag their asses to add the semi-auto endorsement. I know another guy whose semi-auto endorsement upgrade has been held up forever.
I submitted mine just over 2 months ago, expecting it to take forever and with no immediate plans to buy a new semi-auto rifle or handgun. At least I can say that they were quick to cash my check.

No, I simply checked off the semi-auto box on my PL application, so i'm good there. This in what the white plains officer emailed me yesterday. I have to say, their office has been very responsive, from day one.
I WILL SEND YOUR AMENDMENT TO AQUIRE THE S-W THIS WEEK TO THE COURT.
YOU WILL RECEIVE A NEW CARD AND PURCHASING VOUCHER IN THE MAIL.
