The only way to acquire a gun from out of state without going through an FFL is inheritance. Long guns you can get through an out-of-state FFL if the transaction is legal at home, others have to go through a home-state FFL. If your uncle or whatever dies out of state you can get the gun directly from the administrator or whatever without going through an FFL under federal law (there may be time limits for that and that varies by state too).So the only way to acquire a long-gun from out of state is if it is through inheritance?
I read it that there's a supervised hunting exception and that it basically puts 16 and 17 year olds where 12 to 15 year olds are now in New York. Previously at 16 you could own/possess a long gun in any legal context, and you could hunt and shoot with supervision at 12. So while a 16 year old could run around with a rifle or shotgun before unsupervised now he has to be 18.Another facet is that no one under 18 is suppsed to hunt or even posses a firearm. I am thinking that will rule out all school trap teams as most kids are under 18 , plus the blurb about sporting events being a "safe space". I am reading bill passed 7/2 quickly but this has been a topic of conversation and am trying to find the print version.
