My problem is my interests are "Gypsy" like. I seem to get restless and then seek new horizons.
If I listed all the different work related experiences and things I have done I am sure most here would tell me I am lying.
However, generally I like to explore anything that is mechanical or has an ability to perform a function. Technical things as well. In the past it has been cars, motorcycles, boats, SCUBA, Skiing, aircraft, flying etc, etc.
I am generally a handgun person. However, messing around with things is what brought me to playing with my only long gun, an SKS. i.e learning about head spacing etc.
If and when I can get space available along with a few extra dollars I would like to learn to hand load.
Put me down where ever you like Meke.

Hmm let's see...Back around 1963 I had an urge to become a mechanical engineer, so I attended Clarkson on a scholarship for a year, decided my interests were more in line with philosophy/psychology/religion, so transferred to SUNYBuffalo, earned a degree in philospphy/psychology, got bored again, started a building business and built several duplexes, sold them and invested in silver/gold bars (still have most today). I am very interested in the silver/gold ratio and how it fluctuates. A few people have made mega-bucks on the varying ratio over a period of years. I have not hit it yet, but will before I die. It's become like a life challenge, hit it right and never worry again about income. When I do hit, my grandchildren will never have to work, because I am a giving person. March 31 1986 got my PP and have liked guns ever since. Handguns, mostly. I buy/sell anything and my hobby is satisfying. I do gardening, lots of reading/research/writing. This haloween my lady and I will dress in scary clothes and become kids once again, making younger ones laugh and howl as we hand out treats and give scary growls. I am interested in how the Roman Republic/Empire lasted so very long amid so much turmoil, and it's staggering contributions to civilization. Dunno, maybe next month I'll take up a new interest. Will update, maybe.

This is the thing, the lower with a slant receiver would have been the perfect platform
for a modular system and it could be made in both steel and aluminum.
It could become the perfect firearm for any use, for anybody and any time.

Let me explain....
A) The 3 lug rotating bolt is stronger than the AK or AR and will take any bolt face perhaps with a bit extra radious in the
face and extension so we could do .473 bolt face too.
B) It should take AR15 trigger groups (It is perfect for this)
C) The upper section and front trunion should be a bit larger to take standard barrel extensions and handguards. 308 size probably
better.
D) Have insert for 4 magazines, AR15, AR10, AK and AI.
E) Have an optional charging handle for a side charging handle so one could build a straight pull bolt action all free float.
F) The slant receiver will take pistol grips abut also easily thumbhole and regular hunting stock with enought leverage
for safety and mag release button.
G) Top rail should be integral and welded and/or bolted to the top receiver. lop pro-diopter sigths standard.
H) carry handlle can go.
I) Regulator in the gas block (h&k style).
J) Carrier cut so it could run as short stroke, long stroke or DI system.
K) DI expanding chamber separe from the bolt piece.

And a few more things.

This should be a community open project, agree on blueprints and start building.
A standard that woudl beat the AR15 and AK at their own game but also provide the same modularity to
those people who prefer sporter style or limited cosmetic features due to stupid useless legislation.
Community will provide crowfunding and then also lock up IP to avoid patent parasites.

The ideal gun could be a SA version of this that could take both SA and compact calibers and magazines with about the same weight as
as piston 5.56. Imagine all the caliber choices w/o worrying about bolt strength and reliability.

I’m the same way. It’s why I’m such a fan of Ian McCollum. I’d have much more fun shooting a G43 or a Tokarev pistol or something else more truly obscure than the ubiquitous ARs or Glocks.

Aside from that I love cars, that’s probably my main thing, plus watches, food, and talking about cities, travel, and “the good life” stuff...grilling, house stuff, etc.

This year it's been leaning towards lever actions and shooting iron sights again. I had a blast shooting my .357 carbine last week.

I'm feeling the itch to shoot .22s again.

some rifle rounds to shame like the infamous blackout in terms of momentum(energy) but most importantly, wounding potential.
I mean, if one is going to be sending bullets that hoover round 2000fps then the section and grain of the 35 bore is a great way
to compensate for the limited speed and weight of certain of light-for-caliber rounds.
And then one has a huge array of 9mm and 357 bullets to do cheap reloading and shooting for practice.

I have a very humble stainless rossi m92. It's been 100% reliable with .357. Some .38s it can fumble a bit with. I find with the .38s fmj works the best.

I used to sell a lot of the Rossi Lever rifles. My customers always seemed to be pleased with them./

A modern rifle should be able to take the heat of the most modern high pressure rounds.
The other thing is to choose good quality + strong brass too.

If you don't reload buffalo bore has some nasty hunting rounds for you...

150gr to 180gr at those impact speeds are brutal.

I've just got a 336. I would like a model 94 too. They were at one point the number 1 selling sporting firearm sold. I think something like 6-7 million sold. I could be wrong.
