I have a wood stock coach gun as well.
I stopped watching him years ago. I stopped using teacup a while back.
HK VP40.
Works well, never had a failure of any kind and will shot any .40 cal ammo out there. Easy to handle, easy to maintain and the factory sights are very well done.
only thing that would worry me is commonality of magazines.
They make a button version also.I've shot a friends VP9 a bit, love the way it feels in my hand, but can't get used to the trigger guard mag release. I like consistency across platforms...

I don't know about your S&W magazines, but I can use 9mm and .40 Beretta magazines interchangeably; that is I can load and shoot .40 out of the 9mm mags and as easily the inverse... the .40 mags will hold one or two more rounds of 9mm in (10) round limited magazines, so be aware. Also another reason for my M&P 40/9 is I have 12, 9mm mags and 5, 40 mags.

I actually have a dual port on it's way. How do you like the single port? The exact same one I carry every day. My Glock 19. View attachment 185221
The single port works well. You notice the benefit of ports and comps more when running hotter ammo.I actually have a dual port on it's way. How do you like the single port?
SW 642, then G26What is your one pistol that you own that you are planning on trusting in whatever type of SHTF, WROL situation you envision unfolding?
I'm just talking outloud here but I'm starting to rethink that guns like a p365xl / 365 macro and the glock G48 might really fill a good role. They're bigger than subcompacts but they are slimmer and more concealable than double stacks.
They have a blend of concealment and capability
Just curious on some of your opinions.
I roll my own and have made a spicey batch just for the occasion. I've run plenty through the specific gun I'll be putting the comp on so I'll be able to see if there is an actual difference. The single port works well. You notice the benefit of ports and comps more when running hotter ammo.
Sometimes running lighter anemic ammo you won’t feel much of a difference, it’s still there though. Stuff like duty ammo, you should definitely be able to tell a difference.I roll my own and have made a spicey batch just for the occasion. I’d much prefer sticking with my Glock 19. Besides me shooting it very well and Glock being one of the most reliable pistols, Glock 9mm mag’s are plentiful God forbid I need to get more in a shtf situation. Those mags are going to be the most prevalent. Also my 34 mags work in my 19 as well, so I already have extra mags to begin with.No one's mentioned the Sig P226 or it's siblings: The P226 is the one Pistol I can easily operate ambidextrous and is utterly reliable.
We used one over a three day training class firing right at 2,000 round of 147gr +P Speer Gold-Dot with zero issues and only a field stripped wipe down, and that pistol was WELL used ahead of the Class...I rejected the kool-aid until I had a sip and now I'm hooked. It's only a second choice behind the Beretta (for me) due to magazines on hand...actually the Sig is probably the better gun, but M9's and I go back a long way.
I absolutely love my 226 legion sadly I’d leave it behind for my 19 . If I could only choose 1 it would be my G19 for practical reasons that have already been stated. No one's mentioned the Sig P226 or it's siblings: The P226 is the one Pistol I can easily operate ambidextrous and is utterly reliable.

I bought a legion when Gander was shutting down and I've never fired it, however I've got two other P226's that will make you a believer.I absolutely love my 226 legion sadly I’d leave it behind for my 19 . Haven't held a G48, but it sounds awesome! Unfortunately, the slim profile makes use of G17/19 mags impossible. If SHTF, being able to source magazines will be much easier with the 'standard glock' mag profile. A ton of PCCs take 'Glock mags', but not G48 mags.Lots of different choices being made. Single stacks, double stacks, revolvers, hammer, striker, polymer, metal, 9mm, .45 etc...
What do you guys think of a G48 MOS as a "do all" shtf gun for NY? Can set it up with red dot and light.
I think we have enough choices and variety now where if you are go 9mm you have to at least select something that is 10+1. and a G48 meets that criteria. It offers everything a G19 does but thinner and more concealable, while still big enough to be used.
Unless I'm standing around on guard duty or LARPing I would want to be concealed and I am trying to keep that in mind when trying to think of a great do it all platform. I would want to be armed and carrying every waking moment and comfort and concealablilty with capability is valuable. I also think the p365XL and p365MACRO fit this description or niche
