What is your SHTF pistol?

It's a tough choice, but whatever I chose during a SHTF situation, I'd make sure it was NYS compliant first and foremost.

Priorities Priorities! you wouldn't want an UNSAFE gun in a SHTF scenario. What if someone got hurt!?

I have a Beretta 92 but the SHTF pistol would be the Glock, simply due to parts availability if you happen to 'appropriate' a firearm from somehwhere. The chances of 'found items' belonging to a Glock far outweigh the drawbacks. It's simplay a matter of economics, supply, and demand. Of course my Beretta is still the odds-on favorite.

Your SHTF pistol should be one that can accept more rounds than normal if you know what I mean. That definitely means no single stacks.

I need absolute reliability more than capacity. I'll carry extra rounds and reload my revolver as quickly as I can. We're talking ONE gun. Need to get as close to ruling out mechanical failure as possible.

I've often considered one of my Colt SAA clones as an option. They are simple mechanically which lends itself to reliability.

While I would probably go with one of the semi-autos mentioned I absolutely love shooting my Ruger Vaquero. I definitely makes you think if something like that would be the way to go. And with the transfer bar you can carry six in cylinder safely

Which is why I went with the Beretta over the rest in the stable: the 10mm Delta Elite is super hard hitting and accurate, but it's single stack and you're not as likely to resupply with the 10 over the 9mm, there are still shit-tons of Beretta 92 type magazines, and its Military History has proven the platform, same can be said of the Glock (but I don't have one) and the question was "What would you take in a SHTF situation?"
Before the AW Ban and subsequent un_SAFE Act I had 17 round mags for the Beretta: I might not hit the fuckers, but I will keep them pinned down!
