What to do with my AR build?

If you think you'll like a heavier buffer, then don't let these guys talk you out of it .
They disagree with me, but I like the recoil impulse better with the heavier ones. As long as you test it and make sure it's reliable in your gun, then I think it's fine. But if you're looking to save money, then you could skip it and save that $25 for something more important.

That magpul forend may not be lighter than the one you have on, but it is very nice I have one on a mid length gun.
I went with a fixed mag and a pistol grip.

A quick google search turned up several retailers selling at that point. Midway was the most expensive I saw.

It could be that your gun is overgassed.

It can vary so much in the consumer market its impossible to say. The sailent issue with the Military M4 carbines was the shorter bolt dwell time courtesy of the shorter gas tube vs the rifles. The mid length gas system has largely fixed this.

I actually have an adjustable gas block, but I don't want to rehash the argument here and muck up Fallout's thread. I'm just saying it can be personal preference (as long as it's reliable in your gun obviously).

I don't care, if you find find that running the gas port a little more open in conjunction with a heavier buffer works for you then good.

A modern firearm should have a detatchable magazine, i'd rather give up more if it meant i could reload. My ffl tried talking me into a pistol grip. When I start talk'n, mags start drop'n.... and pants.

Just get one of those speed loaders. Those are cool and probably load faster than a mag packer

Why change wat aint broke? Those features mean nothing to me if i have to use a different contraption to load. I trust modern mags that have been proven in the field. Being raised in a military household, my uncle and father both taught me "You do what keeps you alive, not what keeps people happy"

Had I become one of those people who second guesses themselves and their beliefs, my throat wouldve been crushed. Instead I didnt care if people thought what I did was wrong. I only cared about the best way to stay alive.

Not only that, keeping the ability detach a magazine leaves you with the ability to clear malfunctions.
