Those "holsters" seem like an excellent way to shoot yourself while doing any type of physical activity. I'd say I wouldn't be caught dead using one, but I'm betting if I was using one, I'd be probably be caught dead with it.

Because they seem to seriously lack any backup or proper retention around the frame or slide from pulling around just the molded trigger guard which is an awful idea in my opinion, especially for a glock with a round chambered. If I was woods riding either on a DH mountain bike or off road on my motorcycle where there are jumps, or maybe just skateboarding street, popping off ledges and things as I do regularly, I'd never even consider one. Maybe walking or sitting in a cubicle would be okay? I don't want "minimal" protection/retention or safety while carrying a chambered handgun. The typical kydex holster I use like most others has retention around at least 3/4 of the frame and slide along with the trigger guard. I'm just saying in my opinion, I don't think they are a great idea nor are they at all comparatively safe.

No, I wouldn't want to test my theory with one. I'm willing to bet that your pistol would pop out of it's trigger holster before mine popped out of its actual holster while participating in action sports though. I'd actually put a LOT of money on that too.

I would bet that both would fail and I wouldnt be dumb enough to use a passive retention holster for activities like that

Unless you do care a little bit, in which case I've done all sorts of physical activities throughout the years while using my normal kydex holster and it performs very nicely I must say. Do you do a lot of downhill mountain biking? What's your preferred holster for that sort of thing to come to such a strong opinion? I will admit, I try to avoid backflips and double front flips while concealing IWB just in case. Do you think that the holster you use for your glock would be a better choice for that job and more importantly for other everyday tasks?

Not quite.

It's mainly the lack of reinforcement around the frame and slide against any force of side to side or left to right movement which is simply not existent because all it's doing is covering the trigger. Not to be confused with retention at the trigger guard section, but rather simply acting as just a secondary reinforcing element against lateral movement, canting, twisting, etc. Once your belt clip is in place, the holster is stationary and if there is movement, the holster should move with the gun together. You basically have the entire pistol stationary with a weaker hold that can allow the handgun to pivot easier.

The difference is a full sized kydex sheath doesn't have that potential problem because the handgun can't pivot around the trigger guard molding when the frame and slide is held in place. It's not an issue of retention, just safety because it's not as strong of a hold. Again, not talking about retention.

That's why I brought it up in the first place. I don't think it's an ideal or equally safe design because of that. There are many other reasons why I wouldn't use one, but that's the biggest one for me. Honestly after seeing your previous stuff, I'd never thought you'd be using one of those. I was surprised when I saw it was you that posted it. I always admired your edc set ups, just not this one. I think you're way better than that dangerous piece of sh!t trendy trigger holster. j/k

I usually carry the 19 or 26 in my IWB Comp-Tac MTAC I bought years ago which isn’t shown. If I’m out and about, I make sure to also bring my “Truck Gun”. I like the ability to have a minimum of 30rds of 75gr Speer Gold Dot.

So here is my actual full EDC as it stands right now. As I try to continue to evolve so has my EDC. And here is where I have come so far, and many if the stuff (holsters, tourniquet, and ankle "rig" to be specific, all of which I have already picked their replacement and are working my way into making those changes)

Let's do the run down

1) Glock 19, with Trijicon RMR RM07 (and a fair amount of other goodies)

2) Raven concealment Vanguard (will be replaced with a Tier 1 Concealed "XIPHOS V2" once I get a Surefire X300u)

3) Spare magazine (gun and mag running Federal HST 147gr)

4) Streemlight Protac 2L-X (running rechargeable 18650 batteries but will also run with CR123A)

5) Mini Bic lighter and Bert's bees, and oh keys..

6) AIFAK (Ankle Individual First Aid Kit)
A) Rescue essentials ankle "rig"? Rig? (getting replaced with SFD Responder 2.0)
B) SOFT-T Wide Tourniquet (getting replaced with a CAT)
C) NAR Compressed Gauze (X2)
D) NAR Emergency Trauma Dressing (4")

Just some basic mag carrier, I want a new one but cant seem to find one I actually like, but I haven't actively looked.. the one I have worked but they sent it with a 1.75" belt hook instead of the 1.5" so it moves around to much

That's what my buddy uses and he loves his. For me I cant stand things in my pockets and well I already have to much stuff in my pockets. And I still need to figure out a decent inexpensive folder knife so at that point I dont feel like adding a G19 mag into the mix.

How is that holster? I've been looking at it on Amazon. My intent is to use it with a Glock 43 and 43X. I would attach a "Ulticlip" to it so I could clamp it to my pants and put belt over it. I have to wear dress pants and tucked in shirt.
