So far, I really like it. I had to modify my Bravo Concealment holster for my Shield to get extra cant out of it. They incorporate that into this one, makes it really easy to adjust. It's very comfortable. I'm just wondering how it'll be if I put a red dot on it.

Walther P99as .40 s&w in either a first gen Alien Gear IWB or Safarand ALS depending on weather. I'd like to eventually pick up a smaller Walther in 9mm but my wife's Jeep keeps interfering.

Depends on what I am doing, wearing, where I am going, and what i feel like carrying on any given day... First four are mine, the P 238 in Desert Tan is my wife's EDC... I like small guns.. just not a big gun type.... bob

I was off yesterday so I went with the big .40 and a spare mag. Back to work today means Glock 43 in the Desantis Slim-Tuk which I highly recommend. It's $18 on Amazon, and is one of my favorite holsters. Ammo is Federal HST 147 gr.

I carry at work when the handbook says no weapons allowed. So when my co-workers start talking about guns I pretend I don't know anything about them and that I don't have any. It's pretty hard to do when you really want to join in on the conversation, but I feel this is the best way to go about it.

I do some protective ops work and was looking for a discreet way to a carry streamlined individual first aid kit/tourniquet. I often carry my backup (Glock 42) in an ankle holster and figured this would be about the same, just on the opposite ankle. Let me start by saying this is not really designed for that niche. This appears better designed to wrap around the upper nylon on a GI desert combat boot (the thin ones, not the Oakley Assault Boot styles). I say this because there is not a comfortable backing across the back like you would expect. In the attached picture, you can see a thin strip down the center of the backside. It seems to be there to create friction and stop slippage against a boot. The nylon seems on the top and the bottom of the back rub against bare skin and are horribly uncomfortable. If you wore thick boot socks, that might be enough padding to create some comfort, but it will not work against bare skin. Next, there isn't a well thought out way to change the size. The smallest, functional circumference of the device is 14". I'm 6' tall, a medium frame of 180 pounds, and my ankles measure 9.5" in diameter. To wear the device on my ankle leaves a 4.5" excess flap - which is the molle panel and would have to lay on one of the pouches as there is no method to retain the excess. Alternatively, if you keep about 2" of velcro in contact, you can make the circumference of the device as large as 17.75", which is long enough for my boots. However, when worn around the boot, a pair of 'boot cut' jeans with a 15" flair doesn't move naturally around the device when loaded. FYI, the 'boot cut' jean with 15' flair is my go-to to conceal a Glock 42 or 43 on my ankle with typical casual shoes or low-top day hikers. So, no, this doesn't work for concealed carry. I can make it work with several modifications, but it's not a very good base to even start with. It would be easier and more cost effective to make one from an old ankle holster designed for this kind of work. As an overt carry ankle holster... well I have to ask why? If you plan to open carry this thing, why would you place it on your ankle at all? I feel that there are far better small belt-mounted options.

@Doc8404 yes I wear it daily, to work, or out and about. I wear boots and jeans (summer time if I feel like wearing my flops I'll go minimal and carry just the TQ) and I prefer boot cut but those are getting hard to find.

My ankle kit right now is from Rescue Essentials, its decent but I will be one day upgrading to a SFD (Safer Faster Defense) Responder 2.0.

The RE holds for me the bare minimum, while the SFD will hold everything I have now and chest seals which I think is a great thing to have on hand, and quick clot.


As for the person talking about not being able to conceal? Well they are probably just paranoid, similar to peoples first time carrying a gun.

Around the ankle no one looks and even of they do they dont notice a slight buldge.. I've been wearing my kit at work for quite some time now (8 and 12 hour shifts) working with people and literally no one even knows. To the point were I cant remember how it happened but I needed to show my coworker something which was on my kit (he didnt believe I had a TQ on hand or something) pulled up my pant leg and he was damn near floored that I had a kit on and he didnt know

I recently switched the screw holes around so the clip is attached at the higher point instead of the lower, allowing the gun to ride just a tad bit lower. It’s working out great. Very deep concealment.

Trigger protection is basically non-existent. It’s junk and very unsafe. I bet I could pull the trigger through the material while it’s in that holster.
