A little of both. I've shot a few rounds through the Shield and like it better. My main gripe with the Ruger is the same as everybody else's. Too much slack in the trigger and not smooth but kind of gritty. I'm not one to sell my stuff so if probably just keep it and get a Shield too. LOL!
M&P9c in a Bob Durbin IWB holster for me. I'd love to try out a Shield .45 though.

Picked up a SW Shield 9mm last year when I got my restrictions lifted! It profiles the same as my SW 6906, but is narrower as it is a single stack, Also interested in the Shield in 45acp!!

I have kydex and leather. I still prefer leather most of the time. I like the easy on and off of that holster.
Having mentioned in an above post the size and weight of guns I had always carried for 16+ years , I don't really consider those big heavyweights requiring a coat.
When I said, " try to carry something truly silly and huge a few times" , I was refferring to something maybe a bit more like.....

Depends. In the past it has mostly been a S&W J-Frame loaded .38 Special+P. Recently got a Glock 30S so I might migrate to that.

I've been known to carry this quite often in the cooler / winter months. S&W mod. 4053TSW stoked with 165 grn. HST. Carried in an N8-2 holster.
